whats up guys....just wondering if anyone has ever used one of these.
I wanna get one for an ibook to get more punch in the headphones for producing while on the road. I don't even know if these things really work all that well, but...anyone any info
heres some info/examples of some:

Actually I built my own headphone amp, based on the CMOY design. It definately makes a difference for my headphones (AKG K-401), and improves the bass response nicely. Only thing is, if your source has some bg noise, it will be amplified quite heavily. For example, if I plug my receiver into my headphone amp, I will hear a white noise,, even though I never hear it if I directly plug headphones in. If I plug my sound card directly into the amp though, it is totally clear. |

so the amp hooked up directly to an ibook would be totally fine??
strong enough to power pioneers? |

I don't know how good the soundcard on an ibook is. If I plugged it into my laptop, it would probably sound pretty bad (but that's because there is a junk soundcard in it). On my desktop, with a delta44 soundcard, it sounds great.
Each amp is different, but if it's well built, with quality parts, it should give extra power to any kind of headphones.. pioneers are not known to be exceptionally hard to drive, so it should be fine. |

careful not to turn those up too loud guys.. headphones can do some really really bad damage to your ears if cranked. |
