hey peoples, what i've been tending to see are these posted tracks on T.A. that aren't mp3s but encoded as MPEG Audio. What are the advantages of this? I can play them in winamp, but they dont show up as winamp files when i try to add them. same with windows media player...
Also, i have traktor, and I can't seem to see these songs in the folders when i'm in traktor, but i can manualy add them into a cue directly from a folder...
one more problem is i can't re-encode the files using cd/ex or stuff like that...
A clear explination between the two types of encoding would be great.... Plus/minuses etc. |

in winamp go to:OPTION/PREFERENCE/FILE TYPES and set the selection to ALL.
winamp does encode and re-encode all audio formats but i'm afraid that's part of the paid version. |

ok, but why do most producers put out mpeg instead of mp3? |

MP3 is the popular name for MPEG Audio Layer 3 encoding |
