Armand van Helden v. Technotronic - Pump up mi casa (DJ Elujin's Mash)

Ok, I know that sounds really weird but heres the story behind this.

My friend is in a hip-hop/breakdance dance troop at my college and she was running a fundraiser today (they had a deal with a nearby restaurant).

Anyway, she wanted to dance while she was passing flyers out, so I gave her my ipod. The playlist i gave her had Armand van Helden. Eric Prydz, Technotronic, Benassi, Special D, and a few others that I can't really recall right now.

Anyway, she was like why dont u put the spanish sounding song together with pump up the jam. I told her i'd try.

Well this is what I have. A mash of Technotronic - Pump Up The Jam & Armand van Helden - Entri Mi Casa.

C&C and whatnot - enjoy i guess - I think this is the oddest thing ive ever combined. lol.

Now that is something I personally have never heard until now.

Techno + Merengue, very interesting sound.

The mix does go off a few times, and it just sounds like a "trainwreck" at times.

I cant help it but smile when I hear this though, it gives a good "happy party" atmosphere.

Although it does get repetitive and nothing much really changes, imo, track needs a bit more work (fix the sync between the 2 tracks) and maybe some more elements and ideas (maybe add your own bassline that goes along with the trumpets) added to the track.

Just a suggestion.

off beat, im not sure it does that - maybe near the end. But i know the ptich is way off - i mtrying to fix that as we speak lol.

Like I said, this wa a quick thing my friend asked me to make her.

ya Techno + Merengue is interesting

Yeah towards the end it does go off, I thought I heard it go off earlier in the track, I may be incorrect.

Now if you get the pitch of both tracks to go along with each other, that'll be nice!

Heh, its about time someone tried this particular "mash up", I remember realizing Merengue does have that "4 4" beat/rythm, and the percussions could be killer if mixed right with Trance and/or Progressive/House.

Have fun with this track and good luck.
