verizon cell phone service rocks. their customer service sux.. but if you choose your plan carefully and stick to it, you should never have to speak to them. Their phones are nothing to write home about... btw, verizon ppl can talk to each other unlimited too.
tmobile service is pretty decent if you stay within NYC... great for text msging everywhere.
AT&T/Cingular (merged?) is pretty decent too. cooler phones for sure. SprintPCS sux! unless you happen to exist in those rare pockets of good service/signal. They have great prices and lots of features and cute phones... |

| I sell sprint and verizon so just wanted to throw my 2pennies in... Tmobile i think is good only for sidekick, phone service is poor(my boo has it and i never get through to her), nextel only good for walkie-talkie (you have to call repeatedly and hear that annpying message that comes up all the time, At&t is ehh.. Verizon is number 1 and there phones are ok. Sprint service is good, and the phones are great, especially the new 5600,what sucks with sprint is when you upgrade you have to pay the full price of the phone and get a rebate in the mail so you have to shell out like 3-400 beans which i think really sucks. other then that bluetooth is the way to go. |

| cellies! they are all justa waste of money, you lose em, break em, they get stolen! the hotter it looks the more u prolly use it and rack up ur bills...id prefer to not be contacted at all! isnt it about time they made some great deals with pre paid mintues and phat lookin prepaid phones...wtf!europe and asia are so far ahead of us! |

im in search of a new phone also....
i currently have nextel i730 and i have to admit it has been very reliable to me despite on what ppl have said about nextel and their service. But for the price i am payin for each month isnt worth it. Add on with all these hoodrats jumpin on the bandwagon with the boost mobile contract, its very annoying to see everyone and their mothers having a nextel sayin "where you at?"
I guess ill wait till brian comes to nyc to see what kind of deal i can get with cingular. Maybe even a job. lol |

I've had Verizon for the last 2 years and I can't remember the last time that it ever dropped service on me. And I'm talking throughout the country. From my experience and my friends, it's definitely the strongest signal in NYC. The customer service wasn't spectacular but in the very few times I've had to use it it was alright. My buddy has cingular and it always drops in our apartment. He has the Razr phone but I think it's overrated. I have the LG vx 7000 through Verizon which takes good photos and 15 seconds of video. Doesn't work too well in the clubs though, too dark. But great outdoors. I bump some serious trance tunes on my ringtones by purchasing tonethis.com. You just put in any mp3 you want and boom it sends it to you.
Yeah, the phone I had in Asia blew any of the ones we have here away. We're like a year behind. The ones you can get overseas will work with a service that uses a sim card. You can usually get them converted in china town.
Look at the reviews on cnet.com. I love that site for things like this. |
