Bored at work so I decided to download it and play around with it.

To begin, it looks really really good. The skin is awesome! Once I got into playing with the functions I discovered that it's Firefox :D . All the options are the same, themes, extensions (although most of them don't work at this time). It actually redirects you to the Mozilla update site.

For those that care it has Active X support, something Firefox does not. It also has a really cool feature that if you trust the site it will render the page in IE. It also allows you to render a page in IE if you feel that the page isn't displaying properly in your current browser. Definitely a cool feature.

The only thing I don't like is that you can't change the default search engine from Netscape.

I don't know if I'll use it past today (Firefox extensions are too good to give up) but I'll be keeping an eye on it as it develops.

Here is the link if anyone is interested in trying it out.

1) why would you need to render a page in IE?

2) what are some good Firefox Extentions? Ive looked around, but i cant seem to find any good ones.

bobby bobby.. you didn't ask me this question first? ;)

1st. some webpages are coded using IE specific garbage therefore look like garbage in any other browser.

good extensions.

- IE View (opens link in IE)
- User Agent Switcher (equivalent to render as IE)

- bookmark synchronizer (keep your bookmarks file on your server and it auto-updates on open or close)
- click flash to play
- ADBLOCK (REQUIRED!!! SOO USEFUL)
- auto copy
- linkification
- tweak network settings
- Add Bookmark Here (excellent)

there's tons of good ones.. pick & choose ;)

have you done any comparisons to speed between Firefox & Netscape?

Mozilla is damn ass slow compared to Firefox. I'm guessing Netscape will be the same. Out of all mozilla based browsers Firefox reigns supreme :D

I currently use only 3 Firefox extensions...

-The SomethingAwful LastRead extension (custom made for the SA Forums)
-Gmail notifier
-Forecastfox (tells me the weather now, and 3 days in advance)
