Hi all, new to this forum and have learnt LOADS already! yay :) I now have a quick question though, any idea where i could get hold of some samples of pilots talking in jetfighters? You ever heard the Pink Floyd album delicate sound of thunder? That kind of thing. I know I know it will probably be real cheesy but i want some anyway and have googled without success :(
Thanks in advance

Just make your own using your own voice...pass it through a series of FX like PHONOGRAPH for the genuine crackling noise ... then through an AM RADIO type preset (which is just a modified HiPass Filter).
You can find some great presets for this in the free Luxonix plugin at their website. Just google LUXONIX.
I doubt you'll find any premade jet-fighter talk on the net or from anyone.
If you can, figure out some of their jargon or maybe visit the NASA TV channel...they sometimes have some cool "space talk" occuring during shuttle missions. Its boring as heck, but good to tape for vox!;) |

Thanks, some good ideas there. Also i didn't think of NASA. Don't get NASA tv over here but i expect finding samples of NASA missions will be easier than fighter pilots.

| You could also sample games. I just copied UBISOFTS "lock on" and it had some of the most amazing sound effects and voice overs I've ever heard.:eyespop: |

While we are at it - can anyone tell me of a VSTi which can turn my crappy voice recorded on my mike to sound like a robot etc?

| Messiah, you need a vocoder. It merges the source of two audio signals (i.e. the 'Cher effect'). You can use it very creatively, though :) |
