Cubase Help, vst thats a effect?

Sry if this is in the wrong forum, just move if it its please.
Im still pretty new to cubase so please bear with me.
Ok, I downloaded a gate that is a VST. Now I know how to insert effects that are plugins by just going to insert under your vst instrument and adding it there. My question is say im running the pro-53 vst and I want to use this gate effect(which is a vst) on that vst. You cant just insert it as a effect like i normally do so how do I get it to work? |

| Forgot to mention I use cubase sx 2. I figured it something to do with routing certain channels but im clueless. |

| Im not positive as im at work right now, but i think its a midi one. What would be the difference? I also have a delay thats a vst that I cant figure out how to use but im assuming they should be hooked up the same way. |

| If it's a midi gate you insert into the midi track, if it's an audio gate you insert into the vst's output track. |
