i got in at around 12, right before the line got really long. sasha went on around 1 i think, and started off with alot of energy. The tracks he played were good, but he just didn't keep the energy throughout the night. It wasn't till Diggers came on and they started tag teaming or whatever did the crowd (and me) liven up. I was really feelin Digweed from around 430-530 when i had to leave. What did i miss at the end? did sasha come back on? I wish i couldve stayed for the rest of digweeds set, but my friend was tired.

overall great night. was it just me, or did crobar have better than usual lighting? i also thought the sound was really good.

the lighting was pretty hot last night. and they went song for song, for the most part, after that last digger set i think.

I've been wanting to see them together for some time now, and they did not let me down. I think Digweed was better than Sasha last night. Did Sasha ever played a record? I think Digweed played a few vinyls. Sasha at times sounded repetitive and flat. This happens when you mix live and loop things for the n-th time. They started off motionless but got into it with the crowd at the end. I still like how The Dutch DJ's get the crowd into it and play with the crowd. These two are too serious.

i think sasha uses ableton live exclusively.... on his huge ass imac. i think digweed had the powerbook. digweed probably used only CDJs... it's pretty much all he had with him at virgin on thursday night.

once they started going track for track, they got people moving, digweed especially... i don't care, i had a great time. each of their first hours weren't great, but i just told myself they're warming up, which is probably true anyway. they certainly looked a lot happier together last night than they did in 2004.

i think sasha destroyed diggers in terms of moving the crowd early. I clearly remember sasha ripping it until atleast 4am.

digweed kept the bpms down eh?

annoying, doesnt make you want to move much imo, even though i had blisters when i saw him in boston.

My (late) review:

Got there close to 11- got in within 5 mins. Came w/my posse (Graham & Francis) and saw Tom & Daniela. Was 'trapped' in front bar til main room opened up. Filled up REAL quick. Really didn't see many TA's as the place got so damn crowded. Seriously, I think that was worse than any night at the Guvernment here in TO- the only positive thing about it is that Crobar doesn't get hot & sweaty like the Guv. But holy crap it was so crowded, and I'm told that is 'the norm' there. I don't think I could ever handle going back to that place if its like that all the time. If Fran hadn't arranged those VIP bracelets, I think I would've run screaming from there at 3am. No place to sit unless u're getting bottle service. Lucky for us, the ones near us getting bottle service weren't sitting down, and let me take rest breaks on their chairs. During DJ Three's opening set, spotted Sasha up in the VIP balcony, so we got our pic w/him (donde esta, Fran???). Moved around a bit w/Tom, trying to find a spot in the room where the speakers weren't killing our ears (the speaker we were in front of had HORRIBLE bass!), but we didn't last long in our new location, w/the crowd size growing. Music was REALLY good - i think this was the 1st S&D set I paid attention to and enjoyed, & I would've missed it had I left- again, those bracelets saved the night. Recognized 1 song that Digweed played the day b4 at Virgin, and Sasha played some mix of Depeche Mode's "Behind the Wheel". THe beats were killer when they were tagteaming! I LOVED the video program they were using to show the sillhouettes of S&D on the screens. Met lots of people from my old hometown (friends of Fran) which was kinda cool. Daniela was the wind beneath my wings that night- she's so much fun to be around!!! MUAH!!! Left w/Fran at 5am.

Personally, I thought the lighting guy SUCKED. I was watching his sad attempts at beatmatching the lights to the song, and it was just awful.... So many moments of nothing happening.

Wish I'd been on the floor to experience the liquid nitrogen blasts, but i just couldn't handle the crowd size.
