700~800 bucks you say?

Must be a typo that sounds wayyyyyyy too low!

The center "channel" is the midi channel. If you read my little description, it says that you can program the MIDI buttons any way you like, to suit any program you like (Ablerton, Traktor, Reaktor etc....).

The channels 2-3 that say MIDI, well, I'm not sure what they do....but as someone suggested, I assume when you put them in MIDI mode, they become controllers as well.

I'll have to ask ECLER tomorrow for more details.

And the price is correct....as the Canadian distributor, the retail here is around $1000 CAD, so in US funds, thats about $750-800 USD ;)

My only guess so far is that you can assign channels 2 and 3 to control midi somehow, also if you look just above the faders on lines 2 and 3, where you select what side of the crossfader the channel is assigned to, it has a midi option aswell, which has me thinking, Ecler has something special happening with this mixer, theres definately more than meets the eye in these pics.

They never had the Nuo5.. ever... How come they are going to carry this?:conf:
Soundwerks
*sigh* I'm trying to work on them. The problem is, at AXE, (apparently) nobody ever orders or requests mixers more expensive than $500...if they dont see a demand for it, they wont carry it.

So, do your best to bug em about ECLER....if they dont see demand, they wont supply :(

OK! I just got official word from ECLER about channels 2-3 (with their MIDI modes);

"Channels 2 and 3 can work with H-LINE, PHONO and MIDI. When switched to MIDI mode, all controls including faders, crossfaders, EQ knobs, gain and others send midi commands. Thus, for instance you can control the mixer of Traktor with channels 2 and 3 operating in midi mode.

Midi buttons in the middle always operate independently of the input - Line, Phono or Midi"

So channels 2-3 DO become MIDI controllers too, in addition to the center MIDI channel....very interesting!

so you can use the mixer eq's to change the eq's in ableton on two or even three channels at once? So this mixer is essentially a 3 channel version of sasha's maven ableton controller? (i say three because only 3 possible channels can be controlled by midi, or is it two channels and a seperate midi controlled instrument by the midi section?) Is there a release date?

Soundwerks
Yes, its more like 2-channels with a seperate MIDI controller "channel", which is the MIDI part.

When channels 2 and/or 3 is switched to MIDI mode, they will then act as MIDI controllers themselves....controlling the EQ/faders in Ableton.

Should be here in about 2 months....early June hopefully.

what do you figure the canadian price will be? very often the canadian price doesn't reflect the american price corrected for exchange rate. Just hoping that this won't be like pioneer and try and rip off canadians.

I have a few more questions if you don't mind. What would you typically use that 3rd midi controller for? Would it be hooked to a keyboard or something like that?
