What can i say that hasnt already been said? These guys have become the biggest draw at Boa from TA, and for obvious reasons. Andy and Steve's b-day celebrations, and a collaboration of TA's with such positive vibes and high energy made this one a night to remember.
Got to Boa around 1:30 with Steve, the club was just starting to show signs of live. Nevio was rockin the decks, and he showed quite the contrast of style i previously experienced with him. Obviously filling in for Jr. Vasquez a few weeks back he had to flip things 'diva-approved' for all the prancers, but this week he got back to the good stuff. Dropping some seriously groovy basslines, with a lot fewer vocals and more tribal influence, i thought this was a great showing for Nev, and quite the warmup for Chus and Ceballos. The crowd was in full force by the time the Stereo duo were ready to take over at 4am, and it was time for a frenzy to begin.
C & C take the decks, and the crowd just goes crazy in anticipation for their intro track. At this time, i was rockin it out with Kev (tw1tch), and he was just itchin for their patented intro. Of course a few minutes in, 'WE ARE COMING TO YOU. IN STEREO, STEREO, STEREO.....' Let the games begin. Started out nice and bass heavy, on the tribal tip - and progressed into a set that had it all. House, Tribal, Tech-house, Prog and of course a few stellar remixes (one of which was Pump up the Jam). When that track came on, i dont think i've seen so many people jumping up and down at Boa as i did in that moment. Pure chaos. Who knew Carey had a 38 inch vertical??? The night ensued, and things got deeper and darker. I tried sitting and socializing with the many familiar faces in attendence, but i think my longest break off my feet all night was about 1.2 minutes. Sorry to those who i left sitting in mid conversation! oooops. Made my way back to the main floor around 7:00am, the beats were just infectious at this point. I saw Katy (MissK), just GROOVIN out there, and had to join in on the festivities. Got down and dirty with this girl for the last couple hours and as before you know it, the lights are on. Grabbed our coats, and then hear Carey on the mic askin everyone if we wanted one more track. DUH!!! So hopped back on the floor to boogie for the encore.
Absolutely great night. I dont think the set was as good as NYE, but it definately ranks IMO as their second best showing at Boa to date. What made this party was the great people, i swear i knew half the club on this night. Steve, thanks for the ride as always - and holy , where did those moves come from?!! You had my beat for the first 3 hours of the night. But i couldnt let you own it ALL night could i? Andy - glad to see you out for your b-day, you looked like you were havin a in blast all night.
Respect to all of those who came to this party, and setting a vibe that will be tough to match in the future. Mark this date on your calander people......
