My WMC Experince.. (with Picures)

Ok... I know this is a little late, But here it goes.
WOW!! This was my first WMC and it won't be my last. I had the best time of my life out in South Beach and Miami :D. For thouse of you who never been really should go.
Picture this: All the top Dj's in the world, all the best local talant around gather in one area for a day of Conferance and a week of non-stop parties. The weather is warm, the sand is soft, the water is clear and blue and the people are even hotter. Every one comes togeter from all over the world for one reason and one reason only. The love of the music.
This is the week where sleep dosn't exist, only 2-4 hour power naps get you threw the next day ;)Food for some reason is not in the plan since that takes time away from your party.
Here is my review:
The Good:
Seeing Armin and Markus at Spin 3/23/05. :
Markus owned the night!! :D He came down to chat with fans and take pictures. I was lucky enough to get his new CD sined :D
PVD and Ferry at Space: HFS!!! I will be talking about this night for a looooooooooonnnnnggg time! :eyes: I heard the best PVD set and the best Ferry Set EVER!!! PVD played for all most 4 hours and Ferry played for 6!!! 6!!! :D I even got to hang out with Ferry at the end :D
Tiesto @ Space: WHOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!! Too bad you could not see him the whole time. There was this fog stuff around him :(
Markus Schulz Wet Grooves Day 2 party :) Markus by the pool do I need to say more... Naaaaa :D :P
The Beach: you have to go to the beach at least once when you go down to WMC. :) There is nothing like it. I actully swam in the water and I have never swam in the oecean before! :)
The Bad:
Ultra 7: For those of you who have never gone you should go just once. Ultra was the biggest massive I ever been too! Ya it is cool the top DJ's get to spin there.. but most only get an hour. There where too many people to really enjoy the music. I actully got pushed down to the ground hard when Tiesto tossed his head phones to the crowd. If People would have fallen on me I could have been crushed! :mad: And getting out and back to the hotel was a mess!!!
Nikki Beach- Well I did not get in. I got there after Markus set. The line to get in was hella long and people where pushing like crazy and my feet hurt and it was hot! GRRRR GRRR so I left!
What I learned:
1. Drink before you go out. Drink prices are sooo much!!!
2. If you want water ask the bartender for a cup of ice with water in it. It is $1.00 instead of 7! and you get all most the same amount!
3. Try to eat more then 2 times there. Your body needs to get energy some how.
4. Bring extra towles and blinkets if you have a lot of people crashing in the room. Most hotles are full and do not have extra's for you.
5. Try to share cabs... that is what you will spend most of your money on. If you can share the costs it is better.
6. No matter where you go it is hard to be "on-time" ;)
7. Sunglasses and Sun Screan are your new best friends
8. Eat once at Pizza Rustica's!!! YUMMMMM :)
9. Do not pack like you are going to move! LOL Unpacking sucks!!:stongue:
8. We are spoiled out here in La. 24 hour del taco's or fast food. there some places open 24rs but it is hard to find. No stores are open 24 hours just 7-11. Mega clubs over there have Kyro.. the ice that shoots down and the sound systems are really nice. But other then that there is really nothing "speical" about Clubs down there.
That is it. I had the best time of my life out there!! :D :D :D :D :D I can not wait for next year to go. :D

I had the time of my life in miami. I must admit that I wasn't anticipating that great of a time at Ultra, I was really waiting for carry on @ AAA, but i was pleasently surprised. Probs coz I could care less about seeing armin/pvd/tiesto (hence not being mobbed by a ton of people). I was able to be right up front for Nu-NRG, Sander, and Lawler.
I'd estimate that I spent less $1k for everything, plane, hotel, rental car, tkts, booze and substances ;)
Definitely pre booze it before you go out if that's your bag, coz the drinks are redic...
I can't wait for next year! |

Total spent...... PRICELESS....... jk..
I think for everything I spent close to $2500. that included space pass, flight, hotel, taxi cab fare, bottle/table service at space, eating out, drinks, and misc purchases. That is pretty much going and not putting any restrictions on myself. Eat whatever, go whenever and get VIP service at most clubs. A table at space is about $1800 and that is allowing 6 people.
DEFINATELY GET THE SPACE PASS! One night it didn't do for us and I had to pay $100 just to get in even with our space pass.
I didn't go to ultra this year cuz I dont really see it as a quality event. Yes, all the top jock's are there but they dont really have the opportunity to do their thing due to the tight schedule. |

Sounds like you had a fantastic time. So glad you did. I would love the opportunity to attend WMC someday. Because of my profession that ain't likely to happen.

Yeah, I took $1000 extra just to spend without restrictions. In the end, I was spending around $100 a day. I did buy all my passes in advanced though. It was also smart to share the hotel room with other people, as the hotel was probably the most expensive at $189 a night! :eyespop: But it was well worth it as we had a beach front room! :eyes: I also bought clothes, a new digital camera, and other necessaries before I left to Miami. I would not factor those in since they are necessaries.
Here's how I spent my money day by day...
$360 Flight Round Trip from OC
$189 Hotel (Cuz we split it)
$216 Space Pass
$75 Ultra Pass
$40 Fatboy Slim Pass
$200 Souveniers (including a real alligator head for my friend David!)
$80 Airport Shuttle Fee Roundtrip for Two from Airport to Hotel
$500 Cab Fair, Food, Everyday expenses...

$1660 Total
Came back home with $340.
