i need webcam help

i have a unibrain fire-i webcam which used to run on my e-mac with OS 10.2 jaguar. I recently upgraded to OS 10.3 (panther) and the webcam has stopped working. it worked after i first installed the new operating software with ichatAV, but now my computer can't even detect that i have a webcam hooked up. the little green light on the camera comes on when i connect it to the computer with a UB cable, but no downloadable program can read it. i tried to download maccam and i went on the unibrain FAQ website and downloaded FW webcam driver, but that didn't work either. i hooked the camera up to a DC adapter with the appropriate voltage, and i'm still getting no signal from my computer. the thing that confuses me is that it USED to work with all the same operating software and programs i have now.

any troubleshooting ideas?
enferno
1. bang head on desk
2. uninstall all extensions and control pannels for it
3. retry everything
4. if this doesn't work, go to next step
5. bang enferno so he will give you more help

:)

Good call.

Does the cam work if you revert back to 10.2?

It doesnt mean you cant go back.

But as enferno suggested, try totally uninstalling the cam from the system, then reinstalling it with the original software. Be sure to reboot between uninstallation and reinstallation, with the camera unplugged until the install program has finished running.

You seem to know what youre doing, so perhaps this is redundant, but you might also make sure you're running drivers for 10.3 not 10.2.
