One of my biggest loves trance-wise from this guy, but the more & more I hear it, even 5 years on, the more it seems like an amazingly fitting tribute to marino stephano, something beautiful like he produced so much of
Add to this - many miles, too soon from Rank 1, and well, are the best creations in trance tinged with sadness, does the loss of people held dear really inspire us that much ? It seems to in these cases |

this is a brilliant tune no doubt. it does have some deep emotion in it. mike really captured the sad emotions well with this tune. i always though it sounded more emotional than any other mike tune and then i heard it was a trubute to marino stephano who died and him and mike were supposed to make a tune together. anyway after hearing that i can understand the tune better and it indeed works just like it should i think.
same goes for many miles too soon pretty much, altho the production quality in that is a bit crap and such is life is far better in production quality. it's a shame they added those vocals on it though. IMO they should have made an extended instrumental mix of it too and release that one. the strings on it are just so damn good!
i dunno if they've really done these tracks with tears in their eyes, but i'd think so. at least that's the kind of emotion i get from them.
great stuff! |

+1
Till We Meet Again is one of the very best M.I.K.E. productions. Mixes well into Intimo - Retention, too. ;)
Agree completely about Many Miles Too Soon, the idea is great but it just wasn't executed. They should have done an instrumental (although the Deep Dub is fantastic). |

all the older MIKE tracks had prety horrible mastering(or distorted synths), which sucks.
Anyway back on topic I love Til We Meet Again. I remember hearing a while back that this was a tribune to MS, but I think I forgot. And yes the strings are just amazing. |

perfectly said :) I just wonder, does the sadness really push them to levels they've never been before, maybe more determined to produce something fitting, as which both these examples, it seems to, not that the producers aren't good anyway, but these tracks are special & emotional, how trance should be |

i personally think it does. it's hard to get emotion into something you make out of nothing IMO. so when sad things happen and you're feeling very emotional i think it's much easier to transfer that emotion into music for example. |
