My nerdy confession:
I memorize capitals and random geography trivia for fun such as: list these cities from West to East: Prague, Berlin, Vienna or... list these cities from north to south: Stockholm, Helsinki, St. Petersburg. Or, name as many countries as you can that start with B... I teach an SAT math class and I have given rewards to my kids not for knowing how to factor polynomials, but for knowing the capital of Canada and of the United Arab Emirates... once in the middle of a geometry lesson I drew a map of the entire Middle East on the board and taught them each country. Have I embarassed myself enough or should I provide more proof... :stongue: |

won my school's geography and spelling bees in 6th grade
my 5th grade teacher wouldn't let me participate in my class's geography bee cuz i already won in school's game 24 and the spelling bee in my class then... god i would've wrecked everyone in the school geography bee that year too. carmen sandiego, you're my bitch |
