damn, celebration looks like it's gonna be crappy...
think about it.

the confirmed dj's so far are:
david morales
max graham
mistress barbara

u can see morales at stereo once a month. graham plays monteal like 3 times a week!! hehe ok, maybe like once a month, but it seems like 3 times a week. and mistress barbara, i dunno how often she plays in mtrl, but seeing as she's from there, im sure at least once every couple months. it looks to me like it's a party full of locals. dont forget the other filler dj's that 514 will throw in...lafleche, nivoc, genie, tiga, etc...and there you have it!

a far cry from pappa, seaman, and tong at cream...
i think the only redeeming factor is that it's at the molson centre, but like zing said, you cant help but think that they will pull some kinda and move it to sona...yuck!

Well first off I don't think that they'll try and pull something and move the party to Sona, because I'm quite sure that they're easily going to sell 5000+ tickets quickly, which even for them will make it obvious that everyone couldn't fit in sona!
2nd, every single party at the moslon has been amazing, or had the potential for an incrdible party, in my opinion, it's the greatest place in Montreal to hold a party, that I've seen so far.
3rd, Max Graham and mistress barbara don't come to Montreal that often, I don't think once a month, yeah they maybe local dj's, but shouldn't take away from the fact that they're quality dj's, that should just enhance that factor. A party with Max, Mistress, David Morales and hopefully Maus ;) sounds pretty amazing to me, all those dj's know how to play to hype up a crowd, and well what better crowd to hype up then a Montreal one with some out of town visitors :D
sohaness
you're mistaken...

max plays montreal at least once a month, with the exception of november since he's doing an extensive US tour...

havent you noticed a steady decline in the dj quality of the 514 parties lately?? i dont think you see that 514 is trying to people up. what's the deal with selling tickets to an event where half of the dj lineup isnt even announced yet?? they're not putting any effort into finding some big headliners to play. , max graham lives in montreal and has ties with 514. you could put these djs at sona and call it a regular night!

steve.
TheRizzler
Well I personallty happen to disagree, I think it wold be a lot more intense then a normal night. Yes these djs are locals, but at the same time they're also internationally known. Do you think they're good djs? Max rocks house, I don't think anyone can question that, Mistress at Cream was amazing, so why should we not be apreciative for having these djs on NYE, because they're locals?!? Everyone's always talkign about supporting locals, and well, I don't doubt that just these locals could throw one hell of a party, and I don't consider it 514 ing anyone! Besides, like I said before, I'm sure they'll more then likely announce another headliner also. Y sell tickets to an event before announcing a lineup? Because they know they can, and that people will still be buying tickets.

everybody parties in NYE while it's not everybody who party in halloween :)
TheRizzler
Yeah, those are 2 totally different parties, Freaky has so far always been 514's smallest party, but even then they announced most of the lineup first.

they only announced seb fontaine for freaky...
and how can it be one of the smaller parties when they brought in digweed AND deep dish in 2000 ?

granted that new years is one of the biggest parties of the year, doesn't it seem fitting that they bring in a big name dj for a big party??

steve.
TheRizzler
They brought in Digweed for 2000 freaky, it was a great party, but it still was there smallest rave of the year.
It's different with NYE, dj's I'm sure get paid quite a bit more $$, and most of them probably already had there destinations to play chosen a while ago, but that's just what I think, so it's not fact or anything. Well, like I said before, I'm sure there's many places that would love to have our local dj's as there lineup, but lets just wait and see who 514 announces, until then, no use in arguing about it. I bought my tickets already because I'm sure, no matter what, that it will end up being a great party.
