I've been on this board for over a year now and this live set is one of the most mentioned of all, especially in the context of getting people hooked on trance. I just read a new post today where someone said that. I know, in my case, it was widely availible, almost as soon as it was mixed, on the original P2P's like Napster and most of my friends had it. If you typed "trance" or "dance" or "electronic" it almost always came up. It was mine and their first real listen here in the states to trance. I may be way off, but I'm curious how many of you were hooked because of this set.

First one I heard was Gatecrasher, and soon thereafter the rest of them. What can I say, that hasn't already been said... Oakey sure brought me alot of music I'll never forget.

i don't know which one it was that really got me hooked... probably just the entire essential mix world tour in general... and p2p networks (and college). i liked a little edm before college, but very little...

back when i first got into this type of music i would try to find new stuff by typing techno into the napster search engin haha, or listen to late night club radio. It was an accident but i got a large portion of Home @ Space, and i thought it was some crazy long track hahahaha but yes it is one of the first things i listened to that were actually decent edm:crazy:

Awesome that you should mention that mix. It was the first full length mix I ever heard. I told lots of people about that mix years ago and introduced quite a few people to electronic music with it. I'm not the only one!!
