Did anybody else go on friday to see Danny Howells spin at System? Howells played an amazing set, as did Mark Scaiffe. Mark Scaiffe deserves the recognition he'd getting. He's being praised as the best T.O dj right? IF he not.. then what the hell is wrong with you people!! I'm trully ignorant on what tracks were played that night by Howells. I didn't recognize a single track.. maybe I was too ed.
Does anybody want to start a tracklisting?
The Music was great but the club sucks! How is System getting these amazing international DJs to play there??
System feels like an underground club, and being TURBO's basement doesn't help. I've always had a better time at the Guvernment or Kaul house. I saw Nick Warren at Meow two years ago, and I can't believe he played at System Soundbar this time around. I wonder if Nick Warren was upset he played at a low grade club with a bunch of retards being the majority of the crowd? |

What do you mean by "Turbo's Basement"??
System is ok.. Small but it's ok.. It's size of Sona in Montreal - probably the first after-hours club in Canada. |

err... first of all sona > system soundbar in size :)
second of all, system isn't a low grade club. It is the BEST (in my opinion) club here in Toronto, always hosting the best in djing talent and also the best in underground sound. Maybe you guys should give it a visit this friday when ashley casselle is going to be playing there (Asthrax) |

I think that system soundbar is a perfect location for Breathe Friday's. The club fits the mood and music perfectly. There is always a strong crowd that is there for the music, and that is why Breathe is my favorite club night...ever.
Scaife is amazing...he is going to be playing an 8 hour set in the coming weeks, something that should be looked at as a treat.
He will blow up internationally soon.

no he wasn't upset, NICK WARREN HIMSELF IS A REAL UNDERGROUND DJ..u see nick is a guy who luv's 2 spin ne where, in fact if he gets a chance 2 spin suppose wise in a "underground club" he can actually feel when he's spinning its underground, ppl r different, dan da usual..doesn't matter if he spins 4 bunch of retards, it all about da luv of musik :) Besides who u callin retards man, u sound like some clubber not a luver? or maybe u mean retards as in their ed on E or something, well den if da majority of ppl is on E den dont stay in da club, i know its hard looking at dem, when ur only da 1 yourself sober :eyes: |

William Shatner was funny for a day. I just changed back.
Anyways.. Nick Warren should be seen at the Guvernment or Kaul Haus. The "underground scene" is at Area 51 and listening to our local underground DJ is in great. I personaly think system soundbar sucks but you'll see me there, just cause I love the music. |

anyway, you guys want a review so...
well, got to system early, like 11ish. thought there would be a lineup, but there wasnt. hung out in the main room for an hour or so, then went to the back room where luke fair was starting to throw it down. stayed in the back for an hour or so, in which time luke was absolutely killing it! he's playing at the guvernment next weekend, so you guys should check him out! anyway, came back out to the main room around 130 or so, and by this time it was packed. scaife was just finishing up his opening set which was really good. howells came on around 215-230 and proceeded to throw it down hard!! he was in relentless up to the time i left, which was about 545 or so...it seemed as though danny was having lots of fun behind the decks. smiling, dancing, and signing autographs and whatnot. lots of energy...there were only a couple songs i recognized, the rest, i havent a clue.
a great night indeed... |
