Usually during open book exams I don't even open my books...it's useless. You either know it or you don't. They make all my open book exams in a way that you can't really find the answer in the book unless you know EXACTLY where it is. But if you know exactly where it is chances are you already know the answer too...

open book exams are a joke in highschool yes.

On open book exams in university are an excuse for a professor to repeatedly anally violate you with the 40 page exam paper, leaving you with uncomfortable paper cuts.

Took the words right out of my mouth !

I will never forget my hardest exam ever. CS 370 - numerical computation. It was an open book exam. Needless to say, I didn't really study as much as I usual since I thought that if I didn't know something during the exam, I would look it up in the book.

When I saw the exam paper, I wanted to cry. It was a massive 37 pages booklet with 3 hours to complete it. "OK", I thought, "If it's that long, it must be easy.". Boy was I wrong. During the first hour I was just browsing through pages trying to find at least something that I could solve with my prior knowledge. To my dismay there was none of that. Not sure what mark I ended up with, probably not more than 20%.

Thankfully I wasn't the only one who bombed; there was a massive bell curve and I ended up with a good mark.

any number of reasons.. if you aren't running at least OS X i won't even bother listing the possibilities.. my ex upgraded her OS to OS X.. i used to have to try and fix it before she had upgraded.. lemme tell you OS 9 is garbage..

if you do have OS X, at least you can troubleshoot the problem :)

I just hate exams, period.

Testing your ability to regurgitate is hardly representative of your intelligence.

The whole educational system is a bit off kilter IMO
