Hi everyone!
I have a favor to ask. Could someone with good mixing skills please listen to these bass samples and comment on each one of them? Can you tell me what's wrong with them (if anything)? Do I need to EQ them differently (in relation to the kick) or completely redesign these bass patches? Or am I just being overly critical and they are fine in their current state?
I would really appreciate it if you could give me some honest, constructive feedback.
Thanks in advance! :D
These are in WAV format and have not been mastered - they were bounce directly from my sequencers.
I hope this is not too overwhelming :)

could you please turn those into low bitrate mp3's? I'll check them out then. 112kbps would probably do the trick.
Thanks |

B1: Too bassheavy, and quiet muddy. It's also clipping/distorting on my speakers.
B2: The kick's too snappy but this is alot better.
B3: Using the same kick as B2, just eq'd differenty? Too much bass in this one.
B4: Too much low end on this again, and too much in the 100-999k range.
If you keep on trying tho, you'll eventually get lucky and hit that "Sweet spot" where it everything just sounds "right". |

Thanks Rob! Do you think these problems are due to a poor patch design or EQ application? Or both? Also, how are you able to tell the sound has too much bass end (bassheavy)?
Would you be able to give me some tips to help me correct these problems?
Thanks!
Does anybody else want to give these a shot?
