Buffalo is a bit of a dump.... the suburbs seem to be the nicest parts but who wants to live in a sterile suburb?
I have a lot of good friends from Blo and the temper of personality is much different from a Torontonians. Blo people seem more laid back and generally more friendly. |

I used to live in Leamington ( near Windsor ), Ontario; and Detroit is the biggest, most discusting slum I have ever seen. I have lived in Washington D.C. for 4 years, and at least the west half of that city is somewhat decent, and they dont have block after block of burnt down houses.
Only pathetic, self pitying, drug atticted waste of life would let their surroundings detiorate to what I've seen there. While there is poverty in Canada, at least people still have self respect.
Personally, I think alot of people in the guetto deserve to be there, because they're a bunch of drug addicted, crack heads, who try to victomize people who try to succeed. |

| Toronto has done an awesome job keeping its downtown reasonably safe and clean. While the politicians may not be perfect, they are a hell lot better than city leadership in Detroit & D.C. ( which both had crack head, corrupted, former mayors ), and Baltimore. I really can't comment about Buffalo because I've never been there. Also in most Canadian cities I've been in there seems to be alot of community pride, where the streets are clean, and you see real manicured lawns, trees, and hedges; instead of run down weed infested lots and gang graffiti. Also, at least in D.C., most working people can't afford to live in a decent neighbourhood. If it wasn't for my current employment, I probably would move to Toronto. |

| I've only been to Buffalo a couple of times and the city does look pretty run down and the only thing that's worthwhile goin there for is the Walden Galleria. That's a really nice mall and I've gone down on day trips with my exes and buds before just to look around, have decent but that's about it. I guess you can say Darien Lake is worth checking out especially since Six Flags bought them |

This is the US way. Most of their cities are like this. The reason being.... EVERYONE WANTS TO LIVE IN A STERILE SUBURB! See, everyone who could afford to escape the inner cities (in the 60s/70s/80s) did. This depressed the property values creating areas where low income families could afford to purchase/rent property. Unfortunately, having a consentration of low income housing brings with it certain social problems that are disperportionately common amongst those of low economic standing. These social problems create a condition which further drives those who can afford to escape to the suburbs away from the city centre... creating more economically depressed property and expanding the "ghetto". It's a vicious cycle.
We were able to escape that in this country because we do not have the same disparity in the disterbution of wealth, therefore our poverty related social malidies are not as pronounced, subsequently, those of the upper and middle classes were not driven away from city centres in as great of numbers as our southern neighbours. |

| Buffalo's got some surprisingly sexy girls...and you can do some decent shopping at Walden's Galleria mall which I occasionally do :toothless Abercrombie here I come! |

Johnny baby....everywhere on the face of this earth has pretty, sexy and beautiful girls, even Buffalo! LOL.
I know. I dated a few of them from back in my "Pleasure Dome" Days. One thing I will have to give Buffalo people is they are more down to earth than in some of the other more major US cities and areas.
I find the further south you travel the more ignorant that people are toward Canadians. The fact that some of them honestly think we live in igloo’s and have no shopping malls or McDonald’s restaurants should speak for itself!! |

What do you expect in Buffalo, a smaller version of Toronto?
It's an old city that went downhill when industrialized/factory jobs all moved overseas. The people are friendly and nice, great arts and entertainment, great restaurants.. there's more to Buffalo than the Galleria mall and run down buildings.. but most people never bother to look for it. |
