well good night overall, got there at like 1:20 because there was only 1 lane open on da GWB and parking was the BIGGEST BITCH!!! but i got in just in time for mauro to come on. i was expecting alot from him that is why i was a little dissapointed with his set.... he started off slow then picked it up at around 3, he played from 1:30-5AM. I thought he would play harder but i guess he wasnt feeling the vibe last nite since the club was pretty much half empty.Eddie Lee was being an ass to him and kept trying to kick him off?? The only 2 TA's i saw was BitchBoyNYC and DOOMBOT (?? i think)
well anyway Mauro played some good tunes and kept the crowd going most of the time. it wasnt packed at all which was good so there was room to have a good time.
FAVORITE TUNES:
David Guetta - Stay
Coldplay - Clocks (Dont know what mix)
I left @ 5 cause i was tired and mauro was about done, i got him to sign my flyer :D i didnt get one of the Meganite shirts he was throwin out  but i did get 2 keychain lanyards :D
he will be better @ privilege when i see him :eyes:

My very first post.....
I had a great time warming up the room for Mauro and hopefully a lot of people had fun. I've been reading a few things bashing our club in particular and I guess I took offense to that. Let me begin by saying NO NIGHTCLUB IS PERFECT. There are bound to be knuckleheads, meatheads, morons, etc, that take away from the vibe of every nightclub. That's just how it goes. Don't complain so much! Come out, hear the music, do a wiggle, and make the best out it.
And for the record, I DID NOT AND DO NOT bug any of our guest DJs for more playing time. No one has spent more time in that DJ booth than myself and it honestly doesn't make any sense for me to steal time away from our guests. As a matter of fact, I absolutely encourage every single one of them to play as long as they want. I've played with Mauro 5 times now and know his M.O. quite well. He likes to play longer sets.....
Also, I'd like to clarify something about our sound system. When our stock mixer, the Rane 2016, is being used, our sound system is excellent. However, 99.9% of DJs prefer not to use this mixer and request something else, usually an Allen and Heath or Pioneer DJM600. The Allen and Heath is phenomenal but has low output, which causes some DJs to distort each channel to try to compensate. This in turn can lead to some sound trouble. The Pioneer mixer is perhaps THE WORST sounding mixer ever made and is essentially a plastic toy that no nightclub should ever install.....But unfortunately, this is the mixer that is most requested and hence you get subpar sound. Bad Boy Bill, Mauro, Ferry, Tiesto, to name a few, for some unexplicable reason request the pioneer.
Cheers,

aiight dont get me wrong, u do seem like a cool guy but from my point of view it just seemed like u were telling him to wrap it up, sorry if i got it confused.... and about avalon in general, it can be good and it can be bad just like anything else, there are just a couple of things that need to be tweeked...
- Cooling system (Tiesto night was the worst, i felt like i had lost 5 pounds from sweating so much)
- Sound System is decent but could be better
other than that its not half bad, but i (along with most other TA's) don't like the vibe over there... mostly because of the crowd that is usually there (i dont wanna b dancing next to like 20 60 year old men), fights usually break out between ppl and it happens all the time......
Avalon has potential, and i have been there many times so i kno, but its just not one of the top clubs in NYC (yet)
ill c u for Christopher Lawrence on da 23rd (hopefully ill b able to get a pic with him :D ) |

Sorry avalons sound is period. How do the other clubs make due with dj's requesting crap muixers?. It should be tuned properly all the time, there is no excuse for ringing ears for 3 days after a event w/ earplugs... And the a/c system, whats the excuse for that? Crowds I can ignore, as that really isnt the clubs fault.. But poor A/C and a bad sound system is no go. Also avalon likes to oversell events, and im sure a lot of people on here can vouch for that and how unsafe that club has been at times.. |

OMG, I can't believe you ASSUMED what was being said between 2 people based on what you saw from a distance, and not what you heard firsthand, and then posted it as 'fact' on a message board...
Respect to Eddie Lee for the clarification. |

Thats so true. The first time I went to Avalon was NYE for Sasha two years ago and the system was mint....Sasha was using the Rane. But the second time I went for Ferry the system was total garbage. I never could understand why some of the best DJs out there are so ing scared to use a rotary mixer. |

well what would u think if all u saw was eddie lee showing mauro his watch and pointing at the time like 3 times, and then making hand gestures telling him to wrap it up just makes it seem that way |
|

Maybe he coulda been pointing out the time to him to tell him 'yo buddy- you're gonna miss your flight if u don't head to the airport now'? ;)
If his set was disappointing anyways, no big loss. |
