Damn, two house sets in a row? Yeah, crazy, isn't it? This week is a bit different however: all the tracks are vocals. For you experenced house folks, think of it as going to the symphony and hearing a pops concert. For you new folks, study up, these are a few of the current hits out there, in all of their vocal glory. Link is below for the impatient, along with the rest.

This set can really be divided into two parts, with Flashdance being the main divider between the two. The first half is a chill collection, starting with Miguel Migs, and the magic touch of Kaskade. The opening track, "Mi Destino", feels like a touch of foreplay before the real beat kicks in with "I Feel Like". I always have problems with that song, because I always have to choose between a sultry vocal and a sexy jazz flute. At least this time the choice was easy. ;-) Next are, in my mind, two classics by Vega/Sealee and PQM. "Diamond Life" is always a hit at the parties I play, and "Nameless" was a natural place to go. Ending this half of the set is my VIP if you will; Kaskade's "Everything". Damn, I really love this song. The only way I can describe it is to call it warm and inviting. The vocal is soft and sweet, and the rest of the song is mellow, subtle with an uplifting aftertaste. Much better than the original mix to be perfectly honest.
Next things get moving with the ever popular "Flashdance". I know it's almost a year old, but I still get comments everytime I put it in a set, so there you go. Afterall, who thought a country groove could sound so good? Hell, with that sassy vocal on top, this song is almost too much. Next is the "Sinnerman", and damn, I love Nina Simone. Then a string of pops, including "Lola's Theme" and "Flawless". Then we finish off with Morales and "How Would U Feel". How could I end this set any other way? I just picked up another single off of his latest album, so that may get some play on the next house set. Until then, enjoy the set, and you'll see me again next week!
