Here are the RULES
-Projects must be completed by this Sunday (April 16th) at 12:01 AM EST
-No temporal requirements exist for each project
-Projects should be experimental by nature.
-The projects will be posted in a thread in the poll section, where TAs will have 5 days to vote.
-Voting will be overseen by the TA mods. Any vote hammering from a specific IP will result in the disqualification of that candidate.
-If HLab wins, the other participating TAs will be banned from the forum. If any of the other TAs win, HLab will be banned from the forum.
(Hopefully one of the mods will help me out with some of these stipulations)
-Anyone else who wishes to participate should submit their candidacy by 12:01AM on Thursday (April 14th).

Actually, I think I'm excited about this contest considering I was just reading this manga (Japanese comic book) about an ongoing bread-making competition. Who knew a comic about bread would be so damn interesting?
After re-reading my last paragraph, I have come to the conclusion that my life, indeed, is a sad one. :(

Not to mention Im awake at 530 AM for no real good reason, bumping this tools thread and getting him more downloads at his site. |

You're too much a valued TA personality to lose your membership so easily. Anyways, you're already aware of what the "enemy" is capable of. Now it's just a matter of time before you fine-tweak your new tune to the point where TA will favor it. However, you should make it clear that this isn't a popularity contest. I definitely see people voting for you just because you're their friend and not for him because he's a jerk.

Hey, a rule is a rule. If somehow this guy can beat Omega, twisted and I, then I will happily leave. I know well about making the poll fair too, and I wouldn't do otherwise. If nothing else, it would give him something to cry about and dispute when polling is finished and he is destroyed, but I would also feel like I had to cheat to win, which shouldn't be necessary this time around.
Im interested to see how TA will receive my tune though. This could totally blow up in my face :p

Word of advice. Do NOT swing by NYTA with a tune. There are folks that are rating in the amateur forum... and then there are those that just hang around the NYTA. They're brutal.

personally im a bit scared about this. most of my tracks are...really out there. considering this guys closer to trance or...something, rather than something odd and experimental...and im not sure what you guys all sounds like...
what genre should i be experimenting with? if i submit something completely ed up, people might take it the wrong way. am i doing this to show off my production skills? should it be rated on the overall...degree of..experimentalness included in the track?
forgive me, its 4:39 am here, im usually bad with vocab when this tired.
anyway, a few things to think about, and hopefully anyway else can thing of different barriers or at least barriers to keep in mind to push everyone involved with this project, in the right direction, thus not resulting (hopefully) in a perm ban.
its a bit sad, most of us involved have been here at TA for...a substantial amount of time, at least compared to..h-lab. i personally wont miss him at all, at least not nearly as i will miss some of you more "official" TA personalities :(
i just dont want people rating me, or anyone else based on bias, ignorant views. this IS a contest about experimentalism and exploration of music, i think it should be rated and judged accordingly, instead of how much its out of hamonics, too much of a distorted lead,
...broken, chopped up beats that sound too frenzied to be music, etc.
a disclaimer of some sort should be announced before polling starts, and for sure, on the polls page.
someone continue where i left off.

Cool, cool. Just dont forget that that is 12:01 AM on sunday, which is the first minute of the day. You may even want to tell yourself saturday just to make sure you have it up on time. I look forward to the results of this competition. |
