Is anybody as excited as I am that we'll get to actually watch some hockey again soon? Even with the absence of some marquee players a la Lemieux, Sakic, Iginla I still say Team Canada still has a pretty good chance of proclaiming their dominance in the hockey world.
Overall Team Canada still has an all-star packed lineup with Brodeur between the pipes, and I believe at least 15+ players who have had international experience from the World Cup to the Olympics in 2002. Hopefully it'll be another cakewalk for them like it was in September when they didn't even lose one game
Team Canada's Schedule (Round Robin)
Sat Apr 30/05
Latvia vs Canada (10:15 am)
Tue May 03/05
Canada vs Slovenia (10:15 am)
Thu May 05/05
Canada vs United States (2:15 pm)
GO TEAM CANADA GO!!! |

I am excited about seeing some really talented players again however, this is going to be terrible hockey. Most of the players are completely out of game shape and I don't see Canada even getting a medal. As far as I am concerned hockey is dead to me. I will give the World Championship a shot but I doubt it will make me fall back in love with the game.
Millionaires and Billionaires fighting over money. It will take me approximately 100 years to make what Mats Sundin makes in one year. Now that is sad. I don't think he contributes 100 times more to society then I do. |
