moving out question

Ok so i moved into a new place last week. i knew it was kind of an OK room, but i figured i would live with it b/c it would only be a couple of months. apart from that it is an illegal room (i live in the back room, which isnt suppossed to be a room for renters) and the price was right. i live with 2 other girls and i really like the people but there are some problems that i really cant deal with.

for example, roaches. I know in australia it is acceptable to have like a a couple of roaches occasionally get in the house.... well the first nite i was here i saw one in the bathroom and was like ok, fine i can deal with it, the window was open anyway. well a few days later i saw a few scurrying across the floor in the kitchen, so i killed them. then the next nite it was really bad. i must have killed about 10 adult ones and i saw these little baby ones scurrying all over the counter, b/c the genius people i live with leave food out. on this nite they left the counter just trashed.

so the next day i cleaned up the counter, after finding 3 babies crawling on my wall and my b/f came over and we sprayed my door and stuff. my room is right next to the kitchen...

besides the fact of the roaches and i now sleep with the lite on, i really have no privacy being that the walls are thinner than communion wafers and you can hear everything. my room is in the back and there are kids that live in this building and they seem to play right next to my window, bouncing the soccer ball on my wall at like 10 AM. it is school holiday time, but still i imagine the weekends will be like this as well.

oh and my "view" is of a brick wall with a power line running across it....

yes i know i should have known this all before i moved in, but it looked clean and i figured the people are cool, and the price is right.

after the problem with the roaches, i brought it up to one of my flatmates, the girl i give my rent to and she said they had a problem last year, got it sprayed but they seem to be coming back. she mentioned that she will get in touch with the real estate, but they take a long time to get back to her and actually do something. the way i work it out is that by the time they actually get an exterminator around here, there will be tons of them. so that is when i decided to clean, spray and eveything and there was no help from my flat mates...

so i went to look at another place last nite and i really liked it, i checked for cleanliness and it looked fine, asked him about roaches, b/c it is common problem here, he said he just had it fumigated etc, the whole nine and if i see a roach i tell him, he will take care if it and i get some free rent. bottom line the place i really like and it works out that it is cheaper.

thing is i feel bad telling these girls that i am leaving on such short notice, but i really cant take it. and the new place is cheaper. i was thinking of saying that since me and my b/f have lived apart (we lived 2gther before this with his family) that we decided to move in and we found a place quicker then we thought and it is cheaper for me.

i really hate lying, but i really dont want to say that they are f**ing slobs and i cant stand roaches crawling around in my room, b/c they dont seem to care that my room is right next to the kitchen...etc.

what do you guys think? sorry for the long read

tell them that ur lesbian being around them is putting a lot of stress in your relationship with your gf and its not going to work.

tell them you tried to live there but it's not working out at all. It's a bad sign to kill a zillion roaches in the first few days. get some balls (you know what i mean ;) ) and move the out! why pay more for a ter place?

thanks for the advice, fast. i just feel bad (catholic guilt) b/c i am giving them one week notice, but the rent is paid bi-weekly anyway.

one of the things i just cant stand at all are roaches. if i see one small one, ill be disturbed and bit paranoid with the thought, "how many more are there?" if i see a big one or many, i absolutely refuse to sleep in the building.

this all stems from a trip to puerto rico. the day i was supposed to fly back to the states, it was 5am, and i had a plane to catch later on. i groggily and half-asleep walk into the bathroom, turn the light on, and open the shower curtain. just as im about to step in, i see this humungous roach around 5-6 inches trying to scurry up the slanted back side of the bathtub. i literally screamed like a little girl and ran my ass out of there. i ended up not taking a shower, brushing my teeth, or anything until i got to the airport, and used those facilities.
