poor little guy

I met the kid in RL, he's like 15 and lives in charlotte. I think he means well but just doesn't know anything, which I can hardly blame him for, having been brought up in a similar environment sheltered from everything until college started.

I think you guys were a bit too hard on DJ coleman, he just doesnt know any better, and I imagine you all weren't very smart when you were 15 either.

Right now he's doing web programming and putting all the money he earns into records and stuff, he seems to really enjoy what he's doing and at least he is trying to get better. He streams sets every few days, has a buddy list full of kids that tune in, much like alot of other DJ's around here. Sure his mixing kinda sux and he plays DJ sammy tracks, but at least he is trying, which is more than what alot of other kids here are doing.

I think he has the right spirit but the wrong brain, but he could very well get better one day if he keeps his current cycle of regular practicing up.

wrong!

he is a complete phleb who will never ammount to anything good. he should quit now since he has aready prooved his stupidity. i will give him some clemmancey however, he isnt as bad as tbat guy that was making his "mix sets" but cutting up livesets and mixing 2-3 song chunks of those together..... i mean that was in creative

you dont even know the guy dude, how can you be so sure he is a 'complete pleb'

and how can a kid who finds himself a job and practices every day never get any better.

He acts the way he does because he is too young to go out. I mean, just have a little insight, put yourself in the place of a little kid and it is not hard to figure out why he acts this way.

He doesn't mean to be such an ass and he is working on becoming more informed, what more do you expect? I think he's doing the best that he can given the situation that he is in, and I dont see why he deserves to be ripped on so much for doing that.

anyway, I'm jsut gonna drop this right now cuz I dont think this argument will go anywhere, but I think most of us decided to judge before trying to understand the situation which was not fair. The kid was just trying to get better, and he is still trying. One cannot expect a young boy sheltered his entire childhood from anything remotely similar to a party scene to instantly have good taste, or the good sense not to let people hear yer first attempts at mixing. I mean, what do you do when you hear party music for the first time? How can one not become suddenly ambitious like that? Give the poor kid a break he's just trying to have a good time and share that with others.
