Instead of staying with a firm I was co-oping at in high school, I decided to go to university. If I had stayed at the company, I probably would be doing what I really wanted with my TV career. Instead, I've been taking freelance work, working at ty companies doing ty jobs. But when one door closes another door opens. Can't say I'm sorry for any decisions I've made with work, but things could have definitely been different.

tv's pretty cut-throat sometimes... and i'd say you're definitely better off WITH your university degree. you'd have to work your way up from the bottom in the biz anyway, so although you've delayed your advancement a bit, all the better that you have a degree (you'll always be taken more seriously that way anyway..!)

personally, i'm LEAVING the tv industry.

oh, and i live by never regretting anything. it's pretty pointless, regret. if something can't be changed, why stress over what 'could have been'... just make the best of what IS.

that said i have become quite nearly an expert at damage control...

One day I came up with a cool tribal tatoo design... the design was acually my name set beside a mirror image of my name but the letters were stylized so that it was pretty hard to read. My girlfriend at the time snagged the design and, without my knowledge, had it tatooed on the small of her back running from one hip all the way to the other (It's huge). Unfortunately, I had already decided that I was going to terminate the relationship and did so about 3 weeks later. Six months later she's married to a former friend of mine and carrying his kid.

Looking back at it, if I could change anything I would make that tatoo easier to read so that every time he has her bent over he can't help but see my name staring back at him.

I know it's a bit of a cliche, but I regret losing the only person that I am certain I wanted to spend the rest of my life with due to reasons that I shall not disclose. But let it be known that I am a ing idiot, and I tell myself this every morning. Oh how great life is.

Die.

So Mikey, what are the reasons?

Wouldn't change a thing, because the decisions you've made in the past shape who you are in the present.

I think the majority regret something. Even though there are some things I regret, I wouldn't go back to change it because right now I realize it had to happen to get me to this point. Besides, if you truly think about it, you need those regretful experiences to teach you the 'lessons' so you don't repeat them.

But if I could go back, I would have learned to keep my mouth shut sooner in life.

Doesn't look so wise to me.

You would not be erasing your mistake as he said, you would be CHANGING them after learning from them.

Not really a regret here, but thankful that i did choose a certain path.

I had a choice between studying undergrad in california or new york. i chose new york. if i had chosen cali, i woulda been where 90% of my friends were then and i would have never gotten the freedom to get out and do what i wanted to do. mainly, i would be listening to hiphop and infused with the entire cali asian-american culture and doing a business degree like every other kid from an asian family.

instead, i picked up trance, dj'ing, enjoyed 4 years in the big apple, finished my degree in music technology and am doing acoustic engineering in the UK now. :)

but then again, instead of suffering this horrible british weather, this unfinished lit review on active control due tomorrow just one alt-tab away, and the stress of studies...i could be kickin' back in cali.

*sigh. oh well. there's good and bad to everything. so what's the point of dwelling in the past? now back to my essay....
