I enjoyed the film, though there were some things I would have changed about the film. For one thing it was not very realistic. There is no place on Earth where a bunch of hippies could set up a township & not pay tax!!!
'Signs' was an OK film. Thought the alien was a bit of a let down at the end. Freaken water can kill it my ass = stupid. Water vapour in the air should have a reaction on the alien if this is the case. |

While there were problems with the film, this wasn't one of them. In the film it was explained that a trust fund was set up to cover things like taxes and the security guard.
I think if you approach the film from one of strict realism you will lose its meaning, it was a scenario devised to explore the reality of the village, and not to explore the reality of tax colleciton. |

I personally enjoyed the concept behind The Village alot more than the actual film, but it wasn't a piece of garbage. I didnt like Signs at all, but bryce Dallas Howard wasn't in Signs ;)
Did you know she received the role without an audition? She was a (theater) stage actor, and Shyamalan was so impressed by her abilities, she was immediately cast into the role.
Anyways, this film wouldv'e been alot better but the pace was immensly too slow in parts. Perhaps, though, this is a comment on perception and how we use it.. |

hahaha I was only spinning bull as I always do d00d. Though If it was reality a bunch of rednex would have trashed that village already. like that cant be hidden from the public.
I was actually sucked into the movie & enjoyed the experience. Shayamalan-bin-ladin or whatever his name is a very poetic director & pulled it off. It was good, but it is nowhere near the league the Sixth Sense is in. I think his slow movie pace is slowing down even more.....
An interesting twist would have been that there was actually a beast in the park. When the blind chick escaped she would have found out that the year was 3001 & the park was a site for releasing bioengineered beasts into community to see what would happen; Like a huge scientific experiment. Then dinosaurs what appear & kill all the scientists & reek havock on civilizations around the world. :toothless |
