i've finally decided on my midi controller...probably one of the more expensive for a 5 octave controller, but with the features (especially aftertouch which m-audio and evolution don't have) i'm sold on this.

Serious machine :)

Looks awesome, but it's veery expensive. For that price you could just as well get a real synth instead.

I agree.

true, you COULD get a real synth...but it for that price it would have squat in features compared to it. Software has come along way in the last few years...and i think eventually it will surpase hardware in terms of desirability for the 'semi-pro' musician. With a midi controller, it will always be good, your computer is your storage sancuary for whatever you need and whatever will come out in the future. if the sounds in a synth get outdated, they're done.

I'm very happy with the current vst's and sample libraries available these days, and want a controller that can use them to their full extent! ;)

to avoid any sort of flame war though, i think hardware is great, and everything is hands on, but with a controller like this, it makes the vst/sample library completely hands on, especially with the added transport buttons to use in cubase etc.

For that price i bought a B-stock Alesis Ion Synthesizer. And the thing is a beauty. For me proghead it gets the job done like a love angel.

it does lack after touch.. Thats my only grip... But the way the screens update for logic and reason is simply amazing... I have been using reason a lot lately just sooo i can use the features of the control. It also works with XMU and logic.. I have a kurzweil pc2x sooo if i really need to play something really expressive i shall use that.
