im sorry but GU27 fookin sucked....being that its howells, i dunno...i was very dissapointed, it didnt take me on a journey like Reykjavik did...was boring. I hope 28 does not dissapoint, and I really think the 27/28 GU's are being released in such a short timespan between the two because the Howells GU bombed. |
I thought Howells GU was sick. As in great. |

i can't imagine that GU027 bombed 025 and 026 maybe...GU used to always release in a short timespan. i think that played a role in them going bankrupt. i love Nick Warren, but i'm not a fan of what seems to be a cycling of Lavelle,Warren,Deep Dish. if i was GU i would be trying to get Cattaneo,Zabiela,Kleinenberg, but that might be hard since they all recently released comps for Renaissance. |

026 was a true bomb in every which way, GU025 I dunno, I thought it was boring and un deep dish like, bad album to represent my fair city with.
GU is under new management and I argue they are much, much smarter and I doubt GU027 bombed, it may not have sold as much as say fooking Tiesto's Olympic trash CD but remember in 1999, hell GU013 and GU014 got released in the same friggin month or nearly. The decision to do GU028 was decided in January, mid feb, hope sent a email saying send all tracks to this address for his GU thing. THeir record label has flourished releasing records, tho I think re-releasing Unkle's Never Never land was a complete failure because Lavelle has already ruined it. Good album tho but Lavelle crossed that line. Anyway Involver sold impressively and Fundacion will do the same. You have to remember its a worldwide brand and if you don't like it, so be it. I own a ton of GU's (most I've bought used), I got 4,6-20,23-27, I like getting them, its not about what the deejay played, I find the location to be the biggest asset. Oh this deejay played this in this place....its all on the CD
you won't like everything they put out but at least you don't get the same recycled tracks like a bunch of A list deejays have been putting out on CDs. You get usually unreleased tracks at times and that's why GU pwns the rest, you don't get the same , some tracks on GU007 never saw the light of day. That's why I like GU, they at least try something different. You can always go listen to GU013 on repeat, if you hate GU027 and something tells me, you only listened to the mp3 and you never purchased it, I think your point is null and void. |

| There will be definitely material on Nick's GU that is exclusive to GU only... I'm optimistic!:eyes: :eyes: |

This is why, he says, this fifth Global Underground mix will probably be his last ever mix album. "If I stick out another one, what have people got to say about it?" he asks. Where else is there to go? |
Nice to see he changed his mind. Hopefully he WILL show us where else there is to go. |

| I have all the GU's in existance other than #2 which pretty much doesn't exist from what I've found. Each one, good or bad in other peoples opinion, have been voyages in music that I have enjoyed. Sure there are times when I have to ask what the the dj was thinking playing that track, but each and everyone has pure gems of tracks that have made for memorible moments. Some of the most memorible for me being 1, 3, 7, 13, 16, 18, 19, 24, and now 27. Hopefully Nick can make 28 just as memorible as the others he's done. |
