hybrid's recent "morning sci fi" also has a bonus track at a "negative" timing. I used exactaudiocopy to rip it to my computer.

I know what i'll be ripping when I go home.

There is definately a way to rip it digitally as people have said before. If hiding tracks like that prevented people from digitaly ripping cds, then p2p networks wouldn't be so popular. If there's one thing I've learned in this world, it is that the crackers are always one step ahead of the legitamit developers. Nothing is impossible.

The secret track is under the label. You have to rip it off.

Yep that 'before track 01' style of hiding bonuses has been made for years, not a new thing at all.

mm, still interesting story:D

bad news everyone... I tried ripping it with Exact Audio Copy...

1. It doesnt recognise the secret track.

2. It wont rip to MP3. For some demeted reason it will only let me rip to WMA.

As i said earlier in this thread, there is no actual problem with ripping the track, you just don't know how to use the software(s) yet. I used Audiograbber 1.83 (with Lame 3.96.1 encoder) and it took a minute or two to go to track 1 properties, change the start/end points of it and then rip the track directly to wav or mp3 or whatever you need.

Did you change the starting point of track 1 from 6:05 or so to 0:00 from the track properties? If you didn't, it hardly can't recognize the audio before the present 0:00 point yet unless you adjust it yourself.

well i'll see if 'CDex' or 'Exact Audio Copy' will let me do that.

but what about the fact that EAC will only let me rip to WMA?
Grrrrr
EAC is good buts its loads of hassle to use.

To convert to mp3 you'll have to install an mp3 codec (LAME) then change the settings within EAC so it uses the lame codec rather than the WMA codec.
