It's my understanding that the federal Liberal Gov't *does* favour a National day car initiative, no? I thought they had earmarked something like $500 million to establish something...?
Critics have suggested it will be a money pit...but I think *something* is necessary.
Can we really expect welfare recipients to give up their benefits when they go to work if they have to pay through the nose for day care? i.e. what's the incentive for a recipient to work a 40 hour week for crap money and then pay a fortune for day care when they could just stay home with their kid(s) and be in the same/similar financial position? Personal pride? ha...yeah, right  ;) |

Read Brave New World.
The state should not be raising our children - that's the job of a loving mother and loving father.
Families, however, should be given tax breaks to help them in their vocation. |

We shouldnt do it because we cant even afford health care let alone yet another socialized program.
And surprisingly a lot of parents dont want it. They see it as something an employer will use as an excuse to make them work more. And they may be right. |
