Yeah, well... Scored 99th %tile in reading comprehension my whole life. I've just read too many posts where you rag on other people for their own personal choices - but they are exactly that, their own personal choices. I could go on about how stupid it is to cover so much of your body in ink - but that's your choice and I respect that - so I won't.

DJ's taking drugs only becomes a concern to me when it starts to impede their performance. When they are so bombed out of their mind that they can barely mix one song into the next, then the value of seeing that DJ lessens for me. When drugs affect their quality of work, they I start to become concerned. Yes, Jimi Hendrix took massive amounts of . He also died at the age of 27, along with Jim Morrison and Janis Joplin. Aerosmith (and the toxic twins) were notorious users and eventually their career went to because it became too much. They had a drastic bounce back once they all went into rehab. Kurt Cobain was addicted to heroin. Who knows how many albums he could have put out. Definitely DJ's take . There's just a fine line between helping performance (by making mind bending beats) and impeding performance. Who knows if Oakenfold just got crappy or was it because he passed the threshold of taking too much.

And I'm not an innocent in all this. I have experience of my own.

So as long as it's not affecting their DJ skills, then what the fawk do I care. It is their business and I'm not the school counsellor.

zzz...

it's funny how people think that some djs are anti-drugs, even though they promote the fact that they shouldn't be needed to enjoy music. I don't think ive ever seen a big DJ that has stated "I have never done drugs." Especially if they are legal in their homeland...

Yayyyy!!! Finally some intelligent discourse!!! Thank you!!!

Anyway, Jimi died from a combination of barbituates and alcohol, not LSD. My mom was a flower child and her boyfriend (before my father) was a photographer for Rolling Stone and ran in many of the same circles.

I'm not condoning drugs in any way, but I also don't look down upon those in search of alternate perceptions.
