My name is Gil and I am a Trance Addict..

you pretty much have it down. but you forgot one thing - good friends that enjoy the experience along with you. i have met so many good people on this board which i think is why i am still a member today. i dont really like trance anymore, but the good folks of tota have me comin back like a crackhead on free crack give away day.

^5 to good people

that is the end of my sappiness. seratonin levels are a little low.

and can someone notify me when the free crack give away is. :nervous:

I gotta agree with the good people aspect of this board. I have never been disappointed at a TA event. Everyone is always genuinely happy to see each other.

And by addictive I would also have to agree. My other itunes playlists have become ceremoniously neglected since I started listening to trance music. It's a much more personal experience and the tracks don't get old or worn out like other genres of music. Keeping the trance playlist on shuffle brings out a new experience everytime. I'm also more inclined to search out different tracks after hearing them at an event and also more WILLING to take the time to do this unlike other genres of music. I think that would have to be a Trance Addict..when the music is more than the sound it makes but also an experience that can trigger memories of awesome times with amazing people :D

I agree...having friends who love the music is really important....all my friends love hip hop, understandably since we are from NY, but it is really hard for me to have friends who bash my music, and do "fake glow-sticks" everytime they hear it...They don't understand how important it is to me....one of the reasons why I joined the TA forum ;)

So I can definately say I am an addict just because of the hurt I feel from no one else understanding trance....... as well as the way I feel when I am around my toronto/montreal friends and a wicked ass DJ is playing at a great venue and he just dropped a sick tune:D now THAT is a great feeling, almost religious!!

Trance is great for listening while working.

Stumbled onto TA and stayed because Canadians are a great, funny, usually drunk, whimsical bunch. Toronto, in the early 90s, was the first place I ever heard this new sound of "trance".

Love at first listen.

A traceaddict is a person that is addicted to EDM (most importantly Trance) and when asked who's up on deck, will know the answer to that question.
Not only can they tell you which dj is spinning but he/she will give you a breakdown of the dj's music style (and if experienced enuf...will list off each track being dropped) and will list in order all the dj's up next.

Though the ability to dance and have a good time with friends is optional...it most definately is a big part of what most TAs are all about.

LOL a tranceaddict is so devoted to his/her music that if a sick tune is dropped they most definately have a religious experience, and if heaven was one big party....then we all have line bypass.

And that's how I define a TA :D

YankeeBaby...I grew up in Queens Astoria, and sometimes miss NYC but I can empathize with you about the ppl not understanding. It never used to be that way...the world certainly has changed. Rest assured that in Toronto...we understand...and we're here for ya babes :gsmile:

I would have to agree with you on friends not understading what trance is all about, some of my good friends like house and hip hop alot. I am not going to put their taste in music down because at one point in life I was an addict to both types of music, I got over it and moved on. I got one of them to listen to trance, he gave it a try and actually liked it,went out and bought Armins ASOT 2004 which put a smile on my face and then he went on to look up info on upcoming parties for the summer. I am glad I have friends that I can experience these good times with. PartEgurl is the other, she is way beyond me she knows her stuff more than anybody I know. thanks babe your awesome!! Well thank you guys for your answers I am sorry I didnt make sense but I am glad you all posted!!

You summed it up fantastic and I can relate totally. I managed to convert one of my friends up here to trance (MissK) which i love, but all the rest really dont understand and I hate that.

tranceaddicts are individuals who understand the love ppl have for edm music and they are very open and welcoming. i have made so many tranceaddict friends in such a short time its baffling... and many of those i would consider some of my very best friends now!
