Hello ,
I have a question for you guys.Do you heard something good or bad about the Stanton T-80 turntable. It is around 300 Euro, but I don't know nothing about it .Do you?

Final question : Stanton T-80 or Numark TT-200 [Or save money for Technics]????????????

The Stanton T-80 brings futuristic looks and the latest digital technology together in a world-class turntable with a powerful direct-drive motor. With Key Lock built-in, DJs can adjust the tempo of a record without affecting pitch, while a S/PDIF digital output makes the T-80 great for archiving vinyl or for use with a digital mixer.

Features:

• Pro-quality turntable with high-torque direct drive motor and unique design
• Straight tone arm for superior tracking when scratching
• Unique digital features like Key Lock (Master Tempo) and S/PDIF output
• 2 Start/Stop switches for mix or battle setup
• 3 playback speeds (33, 45, 78 RPM), plus Quartz Lock and target light
• Pitch control slider with selectable range (+ / - 8%, 12%)
• Includes Stanton 500B cartridge, slip mat and cloth dust cover

Don't know anything about that Stanton T-80 but don't choose the TT-200. I heard that his arm isn't so well...
I don't know if you scratch? (straight arm of T-80)

Anyway I'd just save money for technics or a Super OEM(Stanton STR8-150/Reloop RP6000MK5/Akiama DJ4000 Acura/Synq XTRM10)
They're very popular in Holland and most people reckon they're better than technics but they're not so well known in many other country's so...

I aso wanted to buy a TT-200 or somethin in that direction but I think it's better to save some more money and then buy a really good turntable. You've got to be patient (a difficult part for me, but hey I think it's worth it.

i was spinning on a set tof t-80s yesterday and i didnt care for them at all. the tone arms were really loose, the motor felt really "wobbly" (like it didnt hold pitch real well), adn the bottuns felt really cheap and plasticy.

havent used the numark, but im one of those technics nuts, so you know what im gonnna say.

i've never used technics but i own a pair of numark tt-200's.. if you get a good deal (like i did) then i say getting tech's if you're a beginner. waaay too expensive for the common guy. the numarks aren't bad, my only gripes is that it takes a split-second to get up to speed when you drop your tracks.... and the pitch slider is pretty sensitive. other than that i have no problems.

So you say that Stanton str8-150 is good stuff. But what about the Stanton st-100 ?? I have a shop around me and it is a good deal.

Stanton st.150's are awesome decks... I own a pair and i chose them over everything that is out. But they cost the same as a tech so in that reguard it seems kinda pointless if you just want a cheaper beginner deck. But really from my own experence its worth saving up!

I used to have str8-80's (what they were before they made them t.80's) and there good.... For the money you spend. But don't expect them to be the shiznit i mean there just beginner decks... They have a rather weak motor around 1.5kgf if iam not mistaken and the wow and flutter is over 2% meaning there is not a great deal of balls driving it and the pitch will fall out on you eventually... but i mix tech and they will hold quite well (onced matched) for a good few mins.

Numark i cant really comment on i have only mixed on there gear at dj shops but personally i dont like the feel when using them not to mention the "bubble style" look... But thats just me.

Stanton st.100's are quite good tables (these are prob your best buy)... ive got friends who have a set and they love them... the torque is the same as tech's and they feel very similar... but the wow and flutter is a lil bit higher... but i personally don't notice and think whats written on paper and how things are in real life differ (I mean its been told stanton mixers look better on paper than allen and heath's) ... I am not for or against any deck the reason i got the st.150's is because i prefer the feel over techs and i use the large pitch control (but they have the same motor just beefed up).

Hope this helps...

IMHO, it looks that they are using cheaper parts in the new stanton turntables and they said that them selfs in one of the articles on there site. I never used any of the new turntables, so i cant say there bad or good. I have the str8 100's and i must say there perferct from the day i got them and not one problem, one solid deck. why dont you just tell us how much money you got to spend? ide be glad on helping u find some used techs on ebay.:toothless

and those str8 100s are discontinued now, might find some great deals on them!:)

i got my str8 100's last year im very satisfied, dont get anything lower than a str8 100/st 100. Stanton actually made one damn good turntable and i can say that, just ask Wicked Neo... he had his from the day they came out and there working perfect from the day he got them.

ive never used Numark decks, but im starting to hear complaints already.
