i should quit.

but i dont wanna.
NiteMer
Exactly. I should quit and I went a week without smokes, because I was with my nieces, nephew and my sister and didn't wanna be a bad influence, but I don't seem to want to stop. It's such a disgusting habit, but it feels so good. I need to cut it out, at some point. At least it's been over five days since I've smoked weed. That's a start.

i swear you can't understand the grip a chemical addiction can have over you until you experience it first hand
anyways, anyone got any tips for making this permanent?
got a headache and i'm jittery as :whip:

I know how to quit.

Start smoking in grade 5, and then have your parents suddenly move to another city in grade 8, and as a result you have no access to tobacco.

Worked for me.

But then I started again in grade 10.

seriously ive been dry for a bit now and its because Im keeping active, busy with school, just generally busy. Its like how people eat themselves to death, especially housewives, cuz they got else to do. Instead of NOT smoking, GO running. You need to fill the void or something just as bad if not worse will creep in. An idle mind is the Devils Garden my friend!

Nicotine withdrawal lasts about two weeks, the most difficult time is within the first few days, anyway heres something that works to make it easier to quit during this time, changing your diet reduces the severity of the withdrawal to quite a degree.

Diet: For the two week withdrawal period, eat a vegetarian diet. This means no fish, chicken, beef or pork. This causes the pH between your body and the nicotine to be compatible. This reduces the roller coaster effect of withdrawal and craveings. If you eat meat after a week or so into this diet (say for a day or so) your craveings will increase and your nicotine withdrawal will be harder. If you stick to the two week diet the nicotine will detoxify in a smoother manner from your body. You can eat vegetables, pasta, grains, bread, fruit, eggs and dairy. Also try not to use processed or refined sugar, alcohol and caffeine for the two weeks, but you can artifical sweeteners and decaffinated coffee.

Also use breathing exercises, take deep breaths through your nose and exhale through pursed lips and force the air out. This builds up pressure in your lungs causeing more oxygen to go to your brain and this helps with craveings, do this a few times in a row, dont over do it obviously. This technique also reduces stress one of the main reasons people smoke....exam pressure etc

Anyway best of luck...the diet suggestion definatly works to level out the pH in your body and makes it easier.........;)

after like 2 or 3 days, all that gitters and clears up, and you dont really feel like smoking a cigarette, but you have weird mood swings, at least i did. like i would get hyper and drive really fast on the freeway and then id be like down and . aftger like 2 weeks i seemed to miss the physical part of smoking, just putting my hand up to my mouth to smoke.

Hypnosis is bull. My cousin had it done, we were out at the bar and I was smoking, he's like "Wow, I have no inclination to smoke, even though you're smoking right next to me". About 2 weeks later he was smoking more than he did before he got the hypnosis.

Quitting is all about willpower. When you say you're going to quit, just quit. Only "you" can start smoking again, no one forces you to. There's no easy way out, just suck it up and stop.

take a glass, put some fag ends in, fill with water & try to drink it all. it should repulse you so much you'll never want another one. Personally i've never smoked a single one in my life, saw a family member with a cancer scare at age 12 and it kinda put me straight off ever wanting to
