In typical government fashion they can't even get their damn Canada Revenue Agency self-admin to work properly.
Some flakey-ass Java security controls makes the system unusable all hours of the day. During they day - you can't login (too busy), during the night - you can't manage anything (server problems).
"It's fast, easy, convenient, and secure" they say... It is not fast, it is not easy, it is not conveniet and it is so damn secure it doesn't even let valid users in!

2. What can I do on My Account?
With My Account you can see information about your:
tax refund and balance owing
RRSP, Home Buyers' Plan, and Lifelong Learning Plan
income tax and benefit returns
account balance and payments on filing
instalments
Canada Child Tax Benefit and related provincial and territorial programs payments, account balance, and statement of account
GST/HST credit and related provincial programs payments, account balance, and statement of account
addresses and telephone numbers
With My Account you can also manage your personal income tax and benefit account online by:
changing your return
changing your address or telephone number
disagreeing with your assessment or determination |

Agreed...it took ages for me to get to the point just to have the code mailed to me...I still haven't used the code and signed on just because of the terrible initial experience...it took DAYS of attempts at different times each day!
But Quicktax rules... |

yeah, I had mine in less than 2 weeks.
I use TaxWiz (Intuit) every year to netfile...very easy to use.
Trying to do anything on CCRA or reach anyone by phone who can actually do anything is a nightmare... |

In-ing-deed.
Thank god im still working on corporate files and returns and not doing personal tax .
my life is INCREDIBLY stress free (relatively) because of this!! :)
