repect cultures, I agree "the" laws, not "their" laws are flawed. questionable possession / questionable smuggling in no cases equals death or extended imprisonment.
I agree when travelling we must all be careful yes. I do hope that tourism suffers. Nothing will comapre to her and her families anquish. |

I agree the punishment is harsh, but lets be realistic here.
the reason behind this is; they want no drugs on their resorts. These laws are to scare people off. it's not like they enjoy killing people
what's the point of having strict laws if they are not practiced?
I mean if you are in for an easy buck and are willing to take the risk, then you should be reponsibble for the circumstances if you get caught.
the draw back is if they don't get a fair trial (I think she is guilty though)
ps; I am just pissed about this stuff because I see such things all the time. Some people from some countries expect to be treated differently just because they are from country x or y :whip: |

Basically you dont really know what happened ( and niether do I)but to say that is absolutely horrible. According to the news yesterday, they said that her bags were found unlocked, so really who would smuggle in drugs (5 kilos) without locking there luggage??? So I would think she was ionnocent and that they are juist trying to pull some whole scheme on these "nine people". Whatevere it is I find it quite disturbing and terrible that you would make a crack of it, what if it was one of your freinds, does happen to the best of people you know! |

Relax. We're only joking around. I personally think it's an outrage that she's going through so much simply for weed. The most shocking fact of them all is that the Bali bomber, the guy who killed all those tourists in a nightclub, only got 2.5 years in jail (http://www.abc.net.au/am/content/2005/s1320011.htm) where she's getting 20. That's insane. Indonesia's facked up.

Yeah...go figure eh?:rolleyes:...Australia should cut off ALL economic aid & recall their ambassador (if they have any)...I mean she had NO control of her bags for a period of time & so THAT should be a high consideration but I'm sure that those judges are most likely "bought" by the criminal element in that country... |
