What a great night!!! I arrived around 2, and it seemed as though Howells arrived late, because when I got downstairs, he was still setting up.
I think he began his set around 2h30 or so, and to be honest, I really wasnt feeling his set at first. Very slow beats, almost like lounge music. Once things picked up, they picked up quickly. Howells was spinning stuff like I've never heard before, it was very intense. I danced and danced and danced some more, and thats when I realized that I had just wrecked my legs. I spent some time sitting down and chilling with randoms...(always a thing to do...:p )
I left around 9am, and rumors had it that he was continuing his set until 1pm. I dont know if anyone here can confirm that (Louis?) It was a good night, considering that house really isnt my thing. It was really packed, but the crowd was nice and friendly as always. :D :D
So if house music is your thing, and you didnt go... you missed a great night. And if your like me, you still missed a great night. Howells rocked. :D |

Well what can I say... I most certainly did not get my Danny fix last night!!!
I left just when it started to get really good, but I could have stayed forever dancing in front of him...
To me, he really is one of the best around and the fact that his enthusiasm to play for such long sets is so profound it makes me love him even more...
Well I guess it's a biased opinion because Danny could have played the Macarena and I would have been still mesmerized by his music...
but from what i did hear he started off just perfect and did what he almost always does, raised the beat to higher ground bit by bit...
To a point where I just didn't want to stop dancing. I mean we are talking about over 10 hrs of music here, he has to start somewhere.
So I danced a bit and then had to leave because the final exam fairy paid me a visit and my conscience got the better of me
:( What a shame... what a shame.
I just wanted to say it was a pleasure meeting you fast...but I lost you so soon I didn't get to say bye(I'm usually not that nuts, I was just excited!!!)
Thanks Louis for letting me carry the cord:happy2:
Malek it was nice seeing you again, hopefully we'll get to party next Friday!
and thanks Jay for coming with me tho I know it's not ur kinda thing... even tho u really didn't have much of a choice...(X-x):p

Ran into Malek, Louis, always a pleasure, and Tracy who I went to high school with and havent seen in 3 years, totally out of the blue )
I guess us west ilanders are starting to take over :eyes:
All said and done, I give the night a 11 on 10 and I pray that Danny will grace us with his presence again soon.
Im in the same boat as you MellyD, didint get enough of him, as soon as I got home I put on his new GU Miami cd and let it drift me off to sleep. |

oh my God BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE (AGAIN HAHA) :D
no seriously, one of the best nights ever, i don't even know what to say, i'm speechless ... i slept with his beats in my head, i swear i was dreaming and his music was being played, and i swear i'm not exagerating, and i swear i didn't take anything illicit :toothless
as shawn said it started pretty slow but it was wonderful, i loved that part, later on he picked it up and at around 5:30 it was BAAAAAANG !! track of the night was NO DOUBT this one : DJ Ebar presents New York Pillars - In The Springtime (Teardrop Mix) (right click/save target as to download a sample)
while i was there i spotted 3 or 4 tracks featured on his GU including Thomas Barford - Light Shine, Olaf Pozsgay - Like A Virgin and Drama Society feat Turner - Crying Hero (Tiga remix). too bad i couldn't make it till the end to see if was going to play Blood Money or Keep It Down (Greens Keepers Remix).
thanks Louis for everything (maaaaaaaaaaaan). it was nice meeting shawn05, mellyD & j@y (where have you been guys ?), and malek as usual. Piett i spotted you with your Man. U. shirt but i was inside the booth at that time ...

last night was awesome!!! i cannot say enough times how much i love him. seriously. no one impresses me on a consistent basis like danny. and not only is he the best dj evar, but the sweetest person too. bless.
saw him the night before in toronto, and made the trek to montreal for last night. you will be glad to note that he was 10X better at aria than at system. the dannyfunk was fully in place, sooo good. we stayed till the end, which was around noon. i was hoping for a full 12 hours, but i'll settle for that. definitely up there with his 12 hour set from july 03. eek! i am totally going through danny withdrawal right now. 16 hours in one weekend (plus 10 hours in the car) is not enough for me. :(
DANNY! :D |

| Yah, last night was ing excellent. Big high fives to those who demonstrated their indefatigable will to be weird. Danny boy was dropping lines that cut through my soul and made my ass twitch like it had a mind of its own. Kinda like "The Ladder" from the movie Jacob's Ladder but instead of the darkest fear/hate reaction, it projects you to this weird space where horses ride coyboys and there are three moons. And another thing: holy are women beautiful in this town. Dudes too, but I don't swing that way. And the crowd was good and crazy, especially the girl that told me that the secret password was "mayonnaise" becuase who would think of mayonnaise? Damn, totally genius. Also, I had been going to Toronto to go clubbing for a while and I was getting really jaded. Last night had a restorative power like cranial-sacral therapy. Hallelujah! Happy passover! |
