First of all, 26c did an amazing job promoting this event. The LAEC can hold a ton of people and it was nearly filled to capacity. All told, this was one of the best parties I've been to in nearly a year.
I got there at 10:45 or so. It was a little bit disconcerting that the sound 'hadn't even arrived' in my room at that time as that was the only room with the sound provided by the venue itself. The speakers did arrive by about 11:05, though, and I relaxed just a bit then. The crowd was very ....well, eclectic. There were plenty of candy kids and people as old or older than me dressing as if they were 18 as could be expected, but those weren't the only ones who showed up: about half of the people there were either 'normal' looking or were all dressed as if they were going to Spundae.
Jon Pegnato was the first dj I listened to most the way through. J-Peg has been one of my favorite house dj's for a long time, and he didn't disappoint at all. Periodically I checked back to my room, and saw Cevin Foster spin a little bit: not too bad, though the room still wasn't very full.
Victor came on at about 12:20. It was different than the other sets I've seen him play, but I enjoyed and the crowd was going crazy. In fact, it was almost too much as there were so many people jumping up and down on the stage that you could hardly see him spin! Most of it was very driving, tough tech trance, lots of Mojado tracks in there, and ending with the newer remix of Born Slippy was perfect. Despite the equipment problems up there it was very good as could be expected.
I came on at 2 and thought that people were needing some straight up epic trance, so I started off with Unbreakable and moved into the unreleased Mojado - Fuerte track and then All of Us which set the whole room, now packed, jumping up and down. For about 15 minutes in the middle I was having a really hard time hearing the monitor speakers (way too much bass) so there were one or two transitions that were a bit weaker, and I kinda felt bad about that. Still, things were going off, and I got tired from jumping up and down so much (and woke up completely sore).
Finally, Dj Heavygrinder came on after me, and provided a nice closing set of hardhouse and uk hardtrance. I just wish they would have let the party go for another hour at least!
The tracklist for my set is here: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=260624 . It might as well have been called the "MIKE and Fred Baker tribute mix" :D
Awesome party: period. 26c is going to have a hard time topping themselves with "Summer Dreams" in late July. |

| I was planning on going but it was just too much of a pain in the ass to find out where this thing was, and by the time I found out, I had already commited to Spundae. |

I understand, but it really wasn't that bad. By monday if you had checked the website you would have seen that it would be indoors, at a ~2500 capacity downtown LA venue with four rooms with a balcony going all around the main stage. LAEC is the only place that really fits that description. Maybe next time. |

| No worries mate. I'll definitely be at the next one. I was hoping to come out and support Victor, but I'm sure there will be many more chances for that in future. |
