| Malek, how'd you manage that without a tripod? Were you using the Canon IS lens? Cause those look super sharp! :conf: |

It really depends on what you planning on shooting, its not the ideal lense for clubs and its not that wide ( i love wides ).
But it has a great zoom nonetheless and IS helps alot.
are you going to B&H in NY? |

Yep that's the one, they have some great prices on their websites. In terms on what I'm planning on shooting - I'm looking for more of a general lens to replace the 18-55mm that came with the rebel kit. I'm not planning on doing any club photography with it, more of a walkaround lens with a better range and quality. Either way I can't really spend too much at this time so if you have any other suggestions for this price range it'll be highly appreciated. ;) |

Thanks Malek I'll investigate :D....by the way (since I'm still leaning) how do you tell which ones are wider? (lower mm = wider?) |

Isn't that Charest's office building? I'm unsure, but if it is his office building, that evil smoke around it looks brilliant. hehehe |

yes of course.
you can see what would the 28mm give on your camera by zooming your 18-55 lense to about half (maybe theres a marker at the 28 point).
At 17mm, you would get a bit of a wider image than your 18-55 at the 18mm marker.
a wide lense is very useful for the shots you saw in this thread. |
