| Robot Rock and Technologic are my favorite tracks off of it...other than that there's not really much I like. I think Homework and Discovery were just so damn good that they're both really hard to top. Let's hope that some other mixers can breathe some life into these tracks. |

Yeah they didn't really do much to make One More Time, Digital Love, Harder Better Faster Stronger, nor Crescendolls either. |

I'd disagree, besides, its known that those albums took a fair amount of studio time (especially discovery)
Where as this one was made in 6 weeks.
The laid back approach to producing didn't surprise me though. Seeing as Thomas Bangalter himself has done a couple of tracks that are absolutly NOTHING besides one 4 beat bar repeating over and over for about 4 minutes (yes nothing else). Among others which are 1 bar with some filtering partway through the track.
If you compare human after alls tracks to those, human after all has much more progression breakdown and builds ups, and as a result comes off as less repetitive. The only problem is, that the tracks just arent well made. I'd rather have one nice bar repeat for a whole track, than hear a poorly made less repetitive track. |

Only kidding. I was never much of a fan of theirs anyway. But I think they did pretty well on this album. Tracks I dig;
Human After All, Steam Machine, The Brainwasher, Technologic, and of course Robot Rock. |

Daft punk has a history of taking the current musical world, and synthesizing it into their own personal style..
on all three of their albums (not including daft club) they take influences from all over the music world and turn it into daft punk.
this album is no different. they have taken the "indie" style and made it electronic. there as so mnay similarities between this album and room on fire by the strokes for example.
the garage like production and dirty rock sensabiility combine with that grunge like feel mirrors todays musical enviroment. While it not only mirrors the rock/pop world, there are also direct influences to electronic music, most secifically electro/electro breaks from artists like tiefschwarz, joy kontiki, dj mason, eric powa b, etc.
Hasnt anyone noticed this? |

Jesus. I thought they sampled the guitar stabs and that was it... They really are one of the most over-rated dance acts. Many of their tracks really are only about four bars looped to absolute death. Homework is quite a good album though. |

The only good track was sampled (robot rock)
I loved discovery and well most of it is sampled anyway, I think that's what they should be doing.
But prime time of your life is a very good tune in the album, although it goes downhill after the first 2 minutes.
Overall, in the 3 weeks they took to make this album there's no one to blame but the 2 fools. It's true crap. Sorry I tried to like it but no good. |
