Looking for apartment in SF ... HELP!

So on Sunday I went apartment hunting...just so you know I'm looking for a studio appartment within reasonable distance of the bay bridge (I'll be communting OUT of SF every morning) for about $1400-$1450 including parking. Since I'm moving in summer, at this point I'm looking through the big places that will be likely to have availability at a later time.

I see a few that I don't even bother to get out of my car for, a few that were eh, and Soma Residences, Fox Plaza, and Fillmore Center, which I liked the most. I go home liking the last three but wanting to do more research... I then find that Fox Plaza and Fillmore Center are the most hated and talked about places on apartmentratings.com. And now I'm just confused.

After more research I'm probably not going to Fox Plaza or Fillmore, unless anyone here knows anything about them that might be useful. Basically, can anyone shout out a few recommendations for me to look into? Places you live or places you've seen that you could recommend at least to check out. Thanks

Why don't you just get an apartment at where your commuting to?

I don't want to live in Walnut Creek. I'm 22 years old and want to be near the center of city life, not in the suburbs with families and tons of other boring , lol. And I've been at Berkeley for the last 4 years, and am tired of the east bay.

Yeah... I can understand about that berkeley thing.
But the commute will be so much worse though.

I have one for you.. it's this gorgeous large studio located on 460 South Van Ness #9 has ALL hardwood floors! The unit is super bright and gets plenty of sunlight from the beautiful bay windows. There are FOUR closets and a shower over tub in the lovely bathroom. There is a large eat in kitchen with a lot of counter and cupboard space. Parking is FREE. Included: close to shops, gas stove, water and trash. Rent $300 if you feed the cats and water the plants and also take care of the older lady that lives in the apartment just above.. Drink tea and chat once a week and give her two or maybe more s a month..

Ok.. I'm kidding.. But IMO you started it..
