a quick question about formatting, MBR and Gdisk and all that stuff

Ok i want to format my computer using Gdisk because 2 weeks ago i was having problems installing windows correctly. I mean i formatted using the XP cd then installed it, then small problems will always pop up, like my graphics card not running properly or something crap like that. Even having Memory and CPU lag issues atm. So i was wondering that if i use Gdisk to format the C drive, is this a better option. And would this correct the Master Boot Record because i was told that maybe installing windows 8 times using the XP cd might have screwed some stuff in the MBR or added unnecessary stuff to lag the computer down.
Another question is that if i want this problem to be fixed, can i leave my other partitions alone and just format C drive with Gdisk? or do i have to format the whole thing? |

well, we'll start with the most n00b questions :
did you install the drivers for your devices?
and
are you sure your processor can handle xp?
if yes, great
if no, 'duh'. |
