| who here likes picture disks??? i personally hate them, cant see the grooves for dog poop. but they do look pretty...i'll give them that much:) |

Like you say it can be gay not being able to see the grooves, but on some you kinda can and if you play that tunes alot you'll know it anyway. |

Don't like the personally, they have are a much lower quality than ordinary vinyl.

| picture disks, colored disks, clear disks...they're all really annoying and useless to me. I hate not being able to see the grooves on records, and it especially sucks when they press two songs to a side and you can't really see where one song stops and the other stars. |

| i have the kylie minogue-giving you up picture vinyl. one side has a fake light reflecion drawn on the vinyl so you cant see the grooves at all |

Clarification: Not the track itself, but the god awful bull quality sounding version of it pressed to this uselessly warped and scratched piece of blue plastic... |

I like all vinyls, colored, picture, black whatever.
I must be special, because i have no problems what so ever in seeing the grooves on picture or colored vinyls. |

| for me its if theres more than one track...i can't see the gap for . granted it might be because im asian and my eyes are all slanted (-_-) but hell...i feel like i gotta put that up to a light or something to find it. :stongue: |

i think that it's all a marketing ploy. it's something different from the typical black vinyl, and maybe these marketing people think that it will sell more of that vinyl. I have a couple, and personally don't like them because of the crappy sound quality and the inability to see the grooves.
Just as quick aside, when i browse online sites, i always see tiesto vinyls that are colored and pictured. i'm not really a big fan of the guy in the first place (granted, i do like some of his work, ie Traffic), so why do i wanna spin a vinyl with his stupid mug on it? talk about annoying. :whip: |
