| If Liverpool win they must have the chance to defend their trophy. It will devalue the competition if they can't. |

Source??
From what ive heared the FA havent made a decision yet on whose going through, not until the situation occurs... which it probably wont, cos well make 4th yet!!!
A couple of years ago when real madrid won the champions league, they finished 5th in the league with Real Zarzoga (however its spelt) finishing above them. But the Spanish FA put Real into the competition and the 4th placed team into Europe. I dont see if we win the Champions League why the same shouldnt happen again. |

| From what ive understood, i think that UEFA have left the decision to the FA to make.. and the PREMIERSHIP want the final spot to go to the 4th placed team instead of Liverpool if they win... |

It's simple, really. IF liverpool defeat Chelsea, then go on to defeat what will in all eventualities be AC Milan in the finals, then YES - they should be allowed to defend their title. If Liverpool crash out of the CL, and Everton manage to hold onto 4th place, then without a doubt, Everton deserve to be in the CL next year.
All this talk about Everton being a mickeymouse team with no history is ridiculous. No body cares what a teams history is. The CL by definition doesn't make much sense when you have 4th top teams representing in a league that is only supposed to be for the champions. So please...nuff talk about how minnows like Everton don't have the pedigree to play with the big boys.
Everton have done well this season. Like Leeds a few years back, they deserve to be in the CL. I doubt they will even qualify, which in a way is bad -- but hell, they deserve the 10 million in TV revenue and gate fees for battling so well this year.
PS. Some people here need to stop talking -- and start watching some actual football. ;) |

| One thing thta hasn't been mentioned is this is like 1985 all over again. Everton became the English champions but due to the events at the Heysel Stadium they were prevented from competing in the European Cup. When they won the league two years later the English teams were still banned. |

Well that was the far too cruel reaction from Europe though. Everton fans have always been very well behaved. When they won the European Cup Winner's Cup in 1985 in Rotterdam, there was absolutely no trouble AT ALL. Then Liverpool fans (and the few English idiots as well as Italians who can incite a fight but then run when it's upon them) blew it for everyone. Yet punishing every single English team for 5 seasons was just retarded. |
