well your going to be bias to what you like no matter what, but I would say indie people are a lot more vocal about it, and also their appearance and attitude reflect the music they listen to as well so its not like you can sit there and ignore it either.

EDM is a much more universal music, it doesn't really have a race, sex, creed, or even an age barrier, and you don't have one looks specified with EDM either, beyond stereotypes.

And its not stereotyping indie kids as all dressing and acting that way, because they do, otherwise they don't fit into their clique.

and if i TRIED to walk into a club wearing indie clothes, they wouldnt even let me in!!! we are in a clique all the same!!

Perhaps I didn't explain in detail enough. I have only been out to clubs a few times. Probably about a half-dozen times in England, thrice in Germany, and an outdoor festival (Renaissance Wild in the Country). My interest in EDM is purely musical. I don't dress up in "smart" clothes and I don't pop pills. I hate the raver kiddies just as much as the indie-rock & emo kids. I really get on the indie-rock kids moreso because they're like a damn plague in Lincoln. Indie-rock is about the only thing that the uni radio station plays here. The thing that gets me the most about them is they don't even seem to care about the music so much. It's moreso the ridiculous pride in their music being "non-mainstream". The people that are into the music purely for the music are fine with me. I just don't like people pegging themselves into a lifestyle or fashion. Anyone who wears glasses just because they look "cool" should be shot. I like my clothes to look decent, but anything that doesn't serve a practical purpose is ridiculous to me.

yeah, i agree with you in a lot of ways, but i think how one dresses is part of his/her persona, and as long as they are accepting of others, it shouldnt really matter. i like to dress nice when i go out, and its a prerequisite for a lot of places i go on the weekends, if i didnt go to the club, i would be bored every weekend, and some wednesday and thursday nights. i hate 95% of the indie rock just as much as you do, but i am tolerant of all musical and dress code choices, as long as people have a good attitude.

im gonna hate you because i dont like you. not because u like emo and wear dirty clothes. its same with race and sex. im gonn hate you because i dont like you. period.

oh and btw. i love my dior sunglasses and they dont block too much sun, but yes, they look ing cool.

All the indie kids I have ever known INSTANTLY have an "I am better than you" attitude, mostly based on the fact that they listen to "indie music". 90% of the time its too, but they wont get off the high horse just to look cool.

Best come back to anyone that brags their music is better because its independent, just tell them you listen to EDM, the largest independent music genre ever to exist.

anyone else see the irony in this post?
you took my point right out of my fingers with your attitude.
you can't argue, especially with the evidence you just fed me, that EDM listeners don't do the same or on a larger scale. except they say 'i listen to Electronica, the most underground and intelligent genre out there'. or, 'the largest independent music genre to ever exist'.

'i feel sorry you haven't been exposed to it'

i think it's a parallel. i like both. i don't have the attitude on either side. i don't dress the part.
sometimes it really is about the music.

ps. indie is not about crying, just like Electronica is not always about dancing.

sorry, its just annoying when you spend your whole time either going to school with retarded indie rocker kids, having friends turn into retarded indie rocker kids, or having to associate with them!

I really really hate them. I can honestly say that hate is the right word, there is just something about them that makes my blood boil.

I dont know, Im probably ed up and most likely putting angers I should direct someplace else onto them (infact I know it is, but Im not about to go off on that tangent).

Whatever.

Do as my sig says, Quit crying f**ker and dance!

but that's that.

i had to laugh at the french emo smiley
