| For part of a project I'm doing, I'm writing a paper on the trends of electronic music in both Europe and North America and why it hasn't caught on as much in the United States as in European countries. Anyone know of some good websites that explain the differences in American and European societies that can explain why they listen to different music? I tried Google but found very little I can work with :( |

yes
you can start with the failed rave act...
city laws about public music...
all the laws & things needed for alcoholic licenses...
drinking age...
city curfews... boston 2am
drug laws...
anti drug adds(lies)....
horrible music being force fed on the radio & mtv
mtv cribs
every single entertainment & beauty magazine
and everything that makes american the stereotypical society that we are
comfortability of nudity and stuff like that (commercials, magazine adds)
over-protection of parents
better education (at least longer education) |

| Well... Here in Sweden you can't electronic music anywhere if you don't go to a record store, they mostly only have ooold music that nobody really wants to buy, and all you can find on radio stations are britney and all those kinda un-liked by me artist.. You either have to buy online or find a website that sells music as download able... |

| damn...i actually remember during 99 or before, there was some obscure station, which usually had some bit of static, like 85.5 or something which played all sorts of rave and trance. unfortunately after 2000 or so it ceased to work :( |
