I have no idea. I got it from a friend and didn't desire to listen to anything else of his. All the music was geeked out, super out there, and I wasn't particularly impressed by his turntablism. It wasn't bad table work (certainly better than I could do, turntablism wise), but I wasn't down with it, at all. Seemed like a bunch of samples, being mashed together. No real continuity.

Hm...well, thats what alot of turntablism sounds like.
Something like this short 4 minute video might show more musical value, if you're interested.

I'm at work. Can't access it here, and don't have internet at home. It's a son of a bitch. I'm sure he has value for some, but he's not my cup of tea. I'd rather see Rectangle, Craze, Cubert, or some of the other hip-hop oriented turntablists.

Most turntablists do mix, produce, and have superb track selection. Look into that dj ishkur was on about...z trip or whatever. He has superb production and track selection skills, although I dont like his music.

In fact alot of turntablists have many more successful productions behind them than zabiela does...look at Kid Koala. His productions are great.

What does he do with the cdjs that is so "unreal" if you would care to explain. Setting hot cues to edit/remix a track is something many djs have been doing for a while. Do you consider looping a scratch sample, running it through the 1/4 tranform effect on and efx 500, and moving the jet effect wheel along as you spin the cdj platter backwards, and adjusting the timing with the paremeter knob to exit the scratch unreal?

I'm not gonna read all that, but if those guys are just as good as Zabiela, then thats really good for them. But the fact still remains that Zab's is still at the top of his genre and what he's doing. When they get to his level of sucess, then come talk to me man.

You failed to answer my question. Or see my original point, which is that Mr. Zabielas success is not due to his technical skills.

Calm down. I know that I, for one, wasn't comparing him to Craze to make you look like an idiot. It's just a good topic of discussion. Auranaut called him a turntablist, and that's how that got started. ;)

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that he should be compared to turntablists, 'cuz he's far from a proper one.

No worries. It was a good topic of conversation. I just brought it up to bring the thread starter out of his hissy fit.

I never said he was sucessful because of his technical skills, but he does incorporate them well into his sets which makes him the only edm artist doing it soo well.

Damn, bro. I was just trying to get a rise out of you, and it, apparantly, worked. Ease up a little bit, and stop taking everything so seriously.

Edit - Did you go to the academy in CO Spgs?
JakeC
