| I want to produce, but I don't even know where to start. I'm not looking to invest a load of money right off the start, so if that's a problem let me know. What software should I use? What are some tips on beginning songs? Remixes? etc. Thank You. |

Check out the stickies at the top of the page. Theres tutorials and pages of information on sound and mastering.
The only money you might want to invest in is on a midi keyboard, it will make banging out melodies a lot easier, and possibly a decent soundcard, depending on the one you have atm. If your current one has half decent ASIO support, you might be allright.
As for software, theres a few choices. A lot of people use VST based softsynths in combination with either Cubase, Logic (if your on a Mac) or FL studio. Theres also Propellerheads Reason which is an all in once studio which can produce some good results but lacks the flexibility of 3rd party plugins.
Tips? Beginning songs? Remixes? Just get yourself some software first and start messing around and twiddling knobs. You'll be busy figuring out your ass from your hands for the next 3 months. Come back after then ;)
Good luck and have fun! |

first get computer.... get reason 2.5 or 3.... download it or get it of someone...
then get you favourite tune...or a tune you want to know how it works and break it down ....listen to the way it is structured....
example if at the start it maybe kick and bassline for eight bars then then hi hat come in then pad.... then melody
l;earn structure and try to recreate tunes with your own sounds
hope this made some else
